coming up. back to you guys. >> christa: all right. happening today: the retrial of gary lee sampson continues in boston today. kris anderson has more on what's happening. kris? >> kris: jurors heard a confession made by gary lee sampson in which he stated he tried to turn himself in and hated the things he had done. defense lawyers say the convicted killer suffered at least a dozen head injuries throughout his life. arguing those could have played a part inhe killing three men, including two massachusetts men in 2001. he was sentenced to death two years later. the ruling was thrown out back in 2011 due to juror misconduct. these court proceedings, though, have reopened old wounds for some victims' family members. . >> the flood of memories coming back. we are going through this again. i still don't understand why. it is just hard. for all of us. we have been through this already. it's been 13 years now. since he has been convicted.
