gun. >> anchor: it wasn't loaded. 7's john cocoa live in lowell with more details for us. john. >> reporter: that's right adam. we're told the father of this child is facing 2 different charges after his son allegedly brought a gun into this school. >> it was a heart attack. little kids from prek to 4th grade. what are they doing with guns? >> reporter: parents in lowell on edge. an 8-year-old st gun to the green hall elementary school last monday. >> it's crazy. where's the parents. >> reporter: showing it to his classmates. one of his students told his parents who told the school tuesday morning. >> it's scary. i'm finding out right now. >> reporter: thought the weapon was an air soft gun. >> when i heard it was a gun my heart went down to the ground.

school being shot up and my grand babies in here. >> reporter: the boy's father turned the gun over to police along with 2 live rounds in the magazine. police say the child's father will be facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and improper storage of a firearm. >> i am worried. i hope they fix and address it. go from there. >> i was scared. i hope they doing something to investigate more to see how it happened and pr future. >> reporter: parents tell us they did get a letter from the school about an incident with a weapon but nothing specific about a gun. >> anchor: some breaking news at 7 involving the harvard's men soccer team. >> anchor: harvard university announcing they've cancelled the rest of the soccer team's season. because of a university review of a report from the harvard's
