that suspect over believing he match the description of a home robbery suspect. that's when the man opened fire on the officers. right now we don't know the condition of the second officer in this case. the scene is still very active as police continue to look at and collect evidence there. we'll keep you updated as we learn more on this story. in the newsroom, jennifer egan, 7 news. >> anchor: also breaking news in new jersey we're following today. two people rushed to the hospital in a stabbing at rutgers university. the suspect is the school sent out an alert before 3:00 this afternoon that several people have been stabbed. we know know there are two victims total no. word on their conditions at the moment. this happen integrity business school on rutgers, new brunswick campus. school was put on lock down as police search for a suspect. students describe the moments after the stabbings. at first i thought it was just two guys just fighting each other because that's what it sounded like, but then once people started looking up and getting concerned and the people

after hour as we swing around here just look at how long this line is but no one wants to miss the opportunity to vote early. what word would you use when you look at this line? shock. >> reporter: it was a right to see from sky 7 hd where all day long the last day for early voting in next true's presidential election and the line was basically wrapped around city hall in boston with anxious voters who waited for s we talked up and we're like that's a fine line. we looked around the corner and it guess all the way around city hall. >> reporter: in lowell city hall closed on fridays, frustrated voters were left to go to the reilly school to take part in the early voting. what happened. you went up to the door? >> reporter: it's closed. it says the sign is closed. the guy came out and said no, closed for business. >> reporter: city hall in boston plus three other locations were jam packed all stay.

would be popular but he never imagined this. people are willing to stand if line when they have more time and police to,er size their vote but it shows that there is that strong social aspect of voting. >> reporter: the secretary of state says more than 00,000 in the state's four and a half million registered voters have taken advantage of early voting with the hope that the lines will be lighter come election day. it's a lot of people but it's earn couraging to see how many peel are voting this year. i think it's a good sign. sign.. >> reporter: this may not be a good sign although people are starting to move slowly again. according to election officials they closed city hall at 5:00 for early voting but you can see everybody here in line and you can just see how far the line continues here across city hall plaza. well, everyone here in line will be allowed to get into city hall and vote tonight but the problem is, some people may be waiting more than two hours here but the

south carolina. authorities say they have unearthethed human remains and now they are looking for more. we're trying to make sure that we don't have a serial killer on our hands. this is a very possibly what we have. >> anchor: that ken after kayla brown was rescued from a locked, metal storage container on the property where she had been held captive for more than two month. it was pretty emotional to say the least when she was found especially hen she was like a dog. she had a chain around her neck. shorts she believes four bodies are buried where she was found. we had cadaver dogs here yesterday that did alert on some places. >> reporter: police is arrested the property owner todd koehlhepp charged with kidnapping and stood before a judge for the first time in the case during a bond hearing this afternoon. police serving his property have uncovered weapons, ammunition, and a car that belongs to brown's boyfriend who is still

and nothing stuck out just yet. >> anchor: as the investigation continues. tonight the sheriff says the deputies have searched just about a quarter of the 95 acres belonging to that suspect. in the newsroom, ryan schulteis, 7 news. >> anchor: also on 7, a roadblock on route 128 in needham will begin in just a few hours from now. crews are going to shut down pat of the highway for the weekend while they tear down the highland avenue bridge. so the northbound lanes will be shut down starting at 8:00 tonight and that 3:00 in the afternoon tomorrow. then the southbound side will be closed from 6:00 p.m. tomorrow until 3:00 p.m. on sunday. the state department of transportation says if you need to travel in that area this weekend, expect delays and detours. >> anchor: the verdict is in in the new jersey bridge gate scandal and it's guilty on all counts. today a jury convicted two former aides to new jersey governor chris christie for causing traffic jams on purpose

now two former aides to new jersey governor chris christie face jail time for intentionally closing lanes at the george washington bridge. we are gratified that the jury saw the evidence, the same way that we did. >> reporter: that jury friday convicted bridgest anne chilly and bill barone for the 2013 scheme. payback, prosecutors say, to are a mayor who refused to endorse christie's bid for re-election. the crimes with which they were charged was a crime to misuse the resources of the port authority purpose. >> anchor: they testified they thought they were helping with legitimate traffic study. their attorneys vowed the case will be overturned on appeal. this case was and is a disgrace. >> anchor: afterward kelly said nothing, tears in her eyes. barone remained defiant. i am innocent of these

series championship win. the cubs defeating the cleveland indians 8-7 in game 7 of the world series on wednesday. my dad was a die hard cubs fan. he passed away in january. he just missed it, but we believed he helped the cubs win the world series. >> reporter: the festivities kicked off with a victory parade starting at wrigley field heading down the magnificent mile and ending with a rally at grant park. after a 108 year title dry spell to catch a glimpse of the commissioner's trophy and their favorite cubs players. we have been waiting such a long time and we really want to show the cubs that we've loved them for so long and we'll get here whatever time and through whatever crowds to get here and support them. when i was watching a game, i mean i was even praying. i said please, please god give these cubs a break because they work so hard for it and they earn it. i am just so excited.
