tonight, kelli o'hara. >> jadiann: and clinton has support from 44% of likely voters to trump's 40% according to the final "wall street journal" poll. libertarian gary johnson is backed by 6% and jill stein stands at 2%. to help put that in perspective. hillary clinton had more than a double-digit lead this time last month according to that same poll. continues to play a crucial role in the race for the white house. both candidates are trying the keep pace in the granite state. donald trump is planning to make yet another stop in new hampshire monday night. that's on the eve of the election when he'll host a rallied a southern new hampshire university. and president obama will be in new hampshire on election day campaigning for hillary clinton. he plans to target people who are heading to the polls. 7news has you covered in the race for the white house. election coverage begins at 4:00 p.m. on tuesday.

on the cape. meanwhile, much cooler as you get out toward boston. mid-30s there. even upper 20s in some of the usual cooler western suburbs. skies become clear except for plymouth county, the cape and the islands where we could see some lingering showers and clouds through most of the night and even into tomorrow. otherwise mostly sunny skies. tomorrow temperature-wise, a touch warmer. then it gets a lot warmer as we head into election day. we'll talk about that and the roller coaster ride to >> dan: following more news today, police investigating shots fired in everett. officials say one person is dead after shots rang out on dane street this afternoon. right now it's unclear what led to the shooting, but officials say it may have been a drug deal gone bad. officials are still searching for suspects. >> jadiann: one woman is dead and five others injured in fatal car accident early this morning on i-95 eastbound. state police say the 25-year-old driver somehow lost control, hit a jersey warier and then rolled the car on its roof.

died at the scene. the five passengers were rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. police are still investigating. >> dan: flames tear through a home in roxbury. fire crews rushed to the scene on george street. you can see in this picture the house is engulfed in flames. right now no word on any injuries or a cause. a water main break causing some transit delays this morning. this happened in the area of albany street and maulden street. the problem was the bus garage that was flooded. or if anything was damaged. >> jadiann: authorities announcing route 128 is back open ahead of schedule. the road was shut down to demolish the highland avenue bridge. travel was a challenge, of course, but crews said saturday they made more progress than expected. >> dan: a suspected serial killer in south carolina officially charged after confessing to four murders in relation to a cold case. todd kohlhepp, the registered sex offender arrested for

confessed he killed four people at a motorsports bar back in 2003. several of the victims' family members were at a hearing for kohlhepp today. kohlhepp was arrested thursday after a woman was found chained inside a metal shipping container on his property. the woman and her boyfriend have been missing since august. coal -- kohlhepp's cob fetion comes on the 13th anniversary of the crime. >> it's a lot of pressure for us in looking at him. it's like it's just hard to believe we're here. it's >> i just looked at him. i just know the stars are going to be shining a lot brighter tonight. >> dan: kohlhepp led investigators to a shallow grave where human remains were discovered. yesterday they were identified as charles carver, the boyfriend of the woman found alive on his property. eight children are now being treated for a rare neurological illness in seattle. doctors are stump trying to figure out how the children

it affects the central nervous system, specifically targeting the spinal cord. doctors say a.f.m. is not contagious and so far there are no connections between the eight children. >> that's what's alarming for us now is that, you know, a disease that has not been seen, so few a few cases in 2014, none in 2015, to see eight cases that meet the case definition, plus they're this close together, still remains a concern. >> dan: symptoms include sudden and pronounced weakness of all eight children are expected to survive. >> jadiann: it's marathon sunday in new york city today, the marathon's first place male broke the record for the youngest winner ever. the man from eritrea is just 20 years old. this is his first new york marathon title. he finished in two hours and seven minutes 5eub 1 seconds. and the new york marathon female winner is mary ketany of kenya.

more from plymouth down to the cape through the overnight hours. got 47 in boston. 48 in norwood. the combination, temperatures below normal, 55 out over the watered. if you look at the wind direction, the winds are blowing from the north. so that means the cape and the islands will be down wind of the water and with water temperatures in the 50s, that means a fairly warm night for the cape and the islands, with temperatures staying in the 40s, even some low 50s out ther also means the chance for showers will continue for the cape and the islands. again, plymouth down to chatham down to nantucket, do expect on-and-off showers through most of the night, even into term morning hours, and that's all part of an area of low pressure that's spinning around just off our shore. that will get out of here, and then skies will start to clear out for most of us as we head through the overnight hours and into tomorrow. and again, the exception will be the cape and the islands, where we could even still see a lingering shower early tomorrow
