marlboro. an infant is dead after being found unresponsive at a home on harrison place. police raced to the home around noon after receiving a 911 call, two adults and a 19-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were found unresponsive in the home. the d.a.'s office we're told is now investigating. also at 5:30 a white house welcome. the closed door meeting ran long. both said they're committed to a smooth transition. >> trump met with paul ryan and other republican leadership. adam williams joins us live from washington, d.c. he has more on trump's big day in washington. adam. >> reporter: a lot of energy here in front of the white house, one of many protests that have happened over the last couple of days. you know that president-elect trump and president obama have shared some harsh words in the

only about one thing, and that is unifying this country. president obama and president-elect trump spoke about a wide range of issues from organizing the white house to foreign and domestic policy. trump as promised to repeal bahama obamacare and change the policies, but today the two men had nothing but positive words about their meeting. >> i have been very encouraged by the, i president-elect trump's wanting to work with my team around many of the issues that this great country faces. >> i very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future including counsel. he explained some of the difficulties, some of the high-flying assets and some of the really great things that

>> reporter: after his visit to the white house, trump met with republican leaders on capitol hill. house speaker paul ryan, in fact, showing president-elect trump, his wife melania and vice president-elect mike pence the view from the speaker's office. the balcony overlooks the spot where trump is inaugurated in january. the group then met with senate majority leader mitch mcconnell, who supported trump throughout his campaign. both of them are saying that they hope to work together hand in hand with this new administration. and mr. trump left d.c. this afternoon to head back to new york. we'll have much mofr on the historic meeting that happened here at the white house coming up on "7 news at 6:00." for now we send it back home to you guys in boston. >> all right, adam. thank you so much.

since the announcement of president-elect trump, protesters have been sweeping the nation last night in boston. thousands marched through the common holding signs they gathered outside of the statehouse and made their way over. >> it was a peaceful protest. jennifer egan is in boston with much more. >> the rally through thousands to the state house. >> he's never my president. >> reporter: and down intou boston common. >> i want to make sure that i stood up for what is right send a message. >> reporter: protesters were upset about the outcome of the election. today the boston mayor acknowledged their frustrations but urged calm. >> i don't think we need protests. right now is probably the wrong time. some of the folks protesting, i hope they voted. >> it started as a facebook and swelled to more than 1,000

john. >> reporter: those protesters used bike locks and pvc bikes to chain themselves to this td bank here behind me. with some people cheering, protesters taken away in handcuffs by boston police thursday morning after chaining themselves to the doors of a td bank in downtown crossing. four activ and two more used reinforced pvc pipes to lock their arms. they're demonstrating against the construction of a pipeline in north dakota. >> what we're asking is for them divest not only because fossil fuels belong in the ground, pulp lines aren't necessary, but at this point more the profound disrespect. >> reporter: td bank extended credit to the pipeline. protesters call for the bank to cancel the loan.

at this point it's equally about the treatment of the standing rock sioux. >> reporter: those four prot protesters are charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. we're live in boston. 7 news. we're over a serious crash this lawrence. five cars crashed on 495 south today shut down the lanes. you see the damage to the van and another car with the roof ripp there's no word how many people are hurt and what the conditions are. a freshman at bright ton high school facing serious charges accused of stabbing a classmate in the school cafeteria on wednesday morning. he was stabbed in the leg and taken to the hospital. a brookline animal hospital evacuated after a potentially hazardous square. employees had to evacuate this morning after they started to feel dizzy and nauseous. police and firefighters showed

playing on a major league baseball diamond, getting drafted on a baseball team is a big stop. on wednesday one boy got a head start in the mlb. ari schultz is four years old and has been drafted to play for assumption college. they say ari wowed him at tryouts. >> he showed the skill and determination any coach would love. he has a great swing. he has a very high baseball q. >> the draft for the worcester college team was made possible by a local nonprofit team impact. the organization based in boston drafts kids with life-threatening and chronic illnesses to college athletic teams. >> this is perfect for ari because of the experience that you guys will allow him to have. >> ari has congestive heart failure and has been on the wait
