>> reporter: probably one of the hardest he's taken. now the nfl network is reporting he could sit out in san francisco in what is believed to be a punctured lung. the play happened late in the second quarter. gronk hit by earl thomas. now if gronkowski's toughness was in question playing with a punctured lung to that debate. the patriots play in san francisco this sunday. live in the newsroom i'm chelsea mcdonald 7 news. >> anchor: we are following more news this evening. a scare at a school in lawrence. investigators say the flames started in an empty science room but caused extensive damage. >> anchor: everyone was able to get out safely. it could be days before they're

>> reporter: you see behind me they finished up boarding up all the windows in the room where that fire started. all 6 hundred students and staff were able to get out and no one was hurt. an alarming start to the school week. around 8:30 this morning less than an hour after school started a fire erupted in the science room on the second floor. >> a bunch of the students one of the girls opened the door to tell us to leave to get out. >> reporter: no students were in the room at that time. the 500 plus students filed outside. many didn't realize it was an actual fire. >> said calmly to go outside. >> we hear the fire alarm. we thought it was a fire drill. the teacher came in said fire, fire. we left and i smelled smoke and it smelled bad. >> reporter: school leaders

for something like that. >> we practice fire drills this year. part and parcel to what we do. we want to keep kids safe at all times. >> reporter: the flames were contained to the one science room. the cause appears to be electrical. >> significant damage to the classroom. heavy smoke and water damage throughout the school. >> reporter: all the students relocated to a nearby middle school and likely won't be allowed back into their school fo >> there's no time table right now of when students and staff will be allowed in the school to resume classes here. fire officials estimate the damage at $250,000. >> anchor: and we're following more news today a construction collapse in kingston injures several workers when the roof of that home gives way. investigators say the injuries are serious but not life threatening.

details on what went wrong. >> reporter: kim, 4 construction workers were injured when this wall on the second floor collapsed. as you see the home is under construction. sky 7 with a view from above. the workers were trying to attach a wall to the house when it gave way and came down on them. this neighborhood here off of christmas tree lane is new. and many of the homes are under construction. 4 were injured. 2 have minor a third with serious injuries was taken to south shore hospital. and a 4th was med flighted to brigham women's hospital with serious back injuries. neighbors say these homes go up quickly. >> we saw a cop car flying down with lights on. and followed probably like 5 minutes later by a couple of ambulances. >> you get too comfortable building these things.

rain is moving in. could bring flooding concerns. go to jr to find out who and what we should expect? >> reporter: kind of messy tomorrow. clouds moving in tonight ahead of that storm system. the storm itself is down through carolina. it will move up the eastern seaboard tomorrow night and into new england tomorrow. not a power house storm. we are in a drought. we welcome this rain. w make sure you have that rain gear. we'll have the rain on and off through the afternoon and the evening commute and maybe a couple bursts of steady rain fall for a short time tomorrow afternoon. before it winds down tomorrow night. now in terms of the flooding it's not from the flooding it's from the astronomical high tides. that will set the stage for astronomical high tide.

tide tomorrow in massachusetts. warning for that high tide in the new hampshire sea coast and portions of maine midday tomorrow. >> anchor: fire crews battling fierce flames in belmont. look at the size of that thing. happened overnight in an abandoned building. investigators are trying to figure out what sparked that fire. >> reporter: fire fighters in belmont >> police department on an adjacent street was smelling smoke started to investigate 2:41 this morning. found the building involved on floors 2 and 3. >> reporter: this is known as the codman building. it's in a remote area of the campus no evacuations were needed and patient care wasn't disrupted. the large u shaped building has been abandoned for 10 years.

from underneath the vehicle. he then discarded the bicycle in the wounds. >> reporter: the victim's friends are devastated. they say alphono was a tattoo artist and father of 2 children. >> he would have been an amazing dad. he loved all his children. >> you didn't stop. all you had to do was make a phone call. and maybe he'd be alive. >> reporter: manavo for other crimes is held without bail. her boyfriend o day is held on $7500 cash bail. >> anchor: a gas station clerk feeling lucky to be alive after a terrifying attack in brockton. police searching for 2 people who robbed that clerk at gun point. investigators say they threatened her with a gun forced her to the ground as they took cash from the register.

the king tides because of this super moon we've been talking about for a few days. the highest of the entire year. thankfully in terms of the storm it does not add insult to injury. the strongest winds with the storm will be occurring at low tide. windy across the cape. southeast winds 20 to 30 miles an hour. that's at low tide. not anticipating a storm surge. the tide comes in boston at 11:07. when you talk about a high tide you work up into the high tide and come back into the high tide. 10 a.m. until 1 or 2:00 in the afternoon pockets of minor coastal flooding. the shore roads are vulnerable in any situation with these high astronomical tides likely to take on water.

coastal flooding. 1 or 2 locations that pick up moderate coastal flooding. as you work up towards the new hampshire sea coast and down east maine. that's the tide situation. focus on right now. 40s and 50s. the city at 56. delightful afternoon. temperatures this afternoon reached the mid 60s. clouds now taking over covering that super moon this evening. from this storm system here head across negl day tomorrow. clouds on the increase tonight. coolest conditions before midnight. the temps start rising after midnight to the morning commute. if you're out the door early in the day tomorrow you won't have rain to contend with. rain arrives 10 or 11:00 tomorrow morning. rain all afternoon through the evening commute. some winds developing. not a strong storm. able to generate some winds.
