some people on edge. nervous about these disturbing delivery, jonathan hall is live to tell us more. >> reporter: the police chief and a local newspaper reporter were among those specifically targeted along with dozens of homes in two separate neighborhoods. it appears there has been no confrontation between a klan member or klan sympathizer and anybody in town. the police chief hopes it stays that way. >> i was i thought it was at morning paper. >> reporter: peter says the rolled up k.k.k.newspaper appeared at his home before dawn. he read some of the arms. >> their view point is way out there. >> they've been ridiculous. they'll always be a fringe group. they've insulted and hurd a lot of people. >> reporter: more than 100 home owners found this racist literature. a first batch more than a month ago then a second over the weeb.

personally at the station. >> number of people are offended. you know, you walk up your drive with your children to go to the school bus stop and in one case the woman says her daughter picked it up. so you know that is of concern. >> reporter: the first amendment protects whoever is doing this. and an investigation found no person was being tarted based on air, religion or sexual orientation. no crime here. >> no crime here. >> reporter: the newspaper is published in it dubbs itself the political voice of white christian america. some residents say they'll stand up for racial tolerance and speak to the person distributing the k.k.k.newspaper if they see it happening. >> i'm not a violent person. i would let them know you are not welcome him. >> reporter: the chief says it's best to ignore them and trash the paper. you can use newspaper in a kitty litter box. >> mine went into the shredder. i don't know that the cat would like it.

but some people can't take it quite so lightly. one particular woman went on facebook. she is 20, identifies herself as a member of the lgbt community. her family feels threatened by this. i'm jonathan hall,7 news. >> kim: a dangerous dropover in and overaccording to police who say a mother was under the influence of drugs when she drove her child to school. steve cooper in andover with the story. >> very scare. >> reporter: if happened here at the bancroft school in and over when 41 mary ellen shea came to drop her daughter off for school. according to the staff members in front office she had trouble signing her daughter's name into the log book and was mumbling incoherently. that's when they notified police. >> it's terrible they would drive endangering not only themselves, not only the kids, but also the people

who conducted several field sobrietiy tests with shea in the school parking lot asked her if she had been on medications. she admitted she had taken a muscle relaxer and medications for depression. >> heinous. where ever she lives, being a mom especially because it's your child that. is your child. >> reporter: shea telling police she was' going through bad times and divorce. the police chief say it's extremely unfortunate when a parent puts their child's life at risk operating a car under the influence of drug adding thankfully no one was hurt. shea was released by the judge and she returns to court next month. in andover, steve cooper, 7 news. >> adam: a somers wort woman saved after nine hours trapped and in trouble. you can see how badly

also the rain here is the rain. wide spread boston up through the merrimack into new hampshire. the sea coast. as you look south of town it does begin to shut down to more of a showery and lighter nature of the rain. but we'll start first here, north of the city. with this packet of steady rainfall marching north. it's briefly intense. most towns about a half inch of rain in a short amount of time. continuing to wind up an head up into northern new england. so the rain we have out there will wind d look at the rainfall tallies up near an inch. fitchburg under an inch of rain. three quarters of an inch. elsewhere most of the rain focused boston west. unfortunately on the cape you folks missed all the steady rainfall. nantucket .1 of an ratch of anyone. the -- of an inch of rain. the timeline it becomes lighter and the commute features clouds tomorrow morning.
