a car, a stolen car that rammed through a house in northboro early sunday morning. meanwhile here at the courthouse late today the victim's family came here to watch this arraignment and they were overcome with grief. at the time. >> a trooper attempted to stop the vehicle on 495 south. the individuals from the frequent fled. >> reporter: prosecutors say the car which was reported stolen later crashed into this house in northboro after a chase with police. but everyone in the car took off. merez was arrested yesterday at her mother's home in lowell. her lawyer says it was the victim who was the instigator ear. >> we've no autopsy report not surprisingly to indicate the reason this person died. >> reporter: orengo's family wants justice. >> i want justice, i want them boys, the girl, whoever, i want all of them arrested. everybody. >> reporter: perez right now is being held on $30,000 cash bail. lowell police investigators along with state police are

>> the dialogue is happening amongst students of color who feel threatened by these images. >> reporter: the painting part of continue exhibit called the state of the union. it's an art show where locallorsists express their feelings and concerns over the recent presidential election. the debate so contentious the exhibit temporarily shut down. >> i think it's in the university's best interest to have it taken down. >> reporter: doctor lisa mcbride head of diversity on campus says it sparked a debate. >> i'm fact that we're challenging our opportunities to think thinkically. some art is in enact provocative. and so the key is how do we prepare any person to floor this -- enter into this room as an informed american. >> reporter: students say what they're upset about the most is the art didn't have an explanation next to it and that left it open to potentially negative interpret air, even though information is now up the harm has already been done.

>> kim: canine concerns. police are worried about their trained drug dogs getting a deadly dose. this is a very real and new frightening threat in the opioid found state police are looking to make changes to keep all of their dogs and officers safe (sirens). >> reporter: these state police dogs are on the front line in the war against drug go they use their nose to locate the narcotics. >> reporter: it has been a risky job but something changed to put the crime-fighting canines in even more danger. a powerful new manmade drug is flooding our area and if

it's called fentanyl. it can be 100 times for potent than heroin and it could be lethal to the dogs who are working to keep us safe. >> we've not trained the dog on fentanyl. >> reporter: but they encount irit more and more at crime scenes and in drug raids of the just last month during a raid in florida, three police dogs nearly died when they came in contact with the drug. the drug enforcement agency is using this video to warn police canine partners. >> reporter: when police officers are exposed to fentanyl there is something that can save them from the potentially deadly symptoms. it's narcan, a nasal spray often given to people who are overdosed on haren but the spray doesn't work on dogs. >> detectives have come to us asking us about what we're doing or what the dainss are fentanyl. >> reporter: state police are making a change to protect their furry partners. the department will be one

injectable narcan. gives the dogs a shot instead of spray could save their lives if they've exposed. >> we have a lot of time an money invested into them and there is a lot of devotion and we'll do whatever we can do to keep them safe. >> reporter: the massachusetts state police say they expect to begin carrying the injectable narcan in january and the department says it's already been contacted by other police departments looking protection for their dogs. in the control room, i'm cheryl fiandaca. >> adam: looking at the time and temperature. 38 degrees. not too bad. i'm wondering what the wind chill temperature is. >> kim: will the wind go away? i want the wind to be gone then it's fall. so okay. >> reporter: the wind fades tomorrow and the a few snow flakes will take its place thursday morning.

night, you see the green blobs showing up. it's the sails weather system but it would be a couple of rain showers. so the amount of snow on the way, again very manageable. a coating to in some of the higher elevations talking up wards of an inch possible. worcester hills monadnock and the berkshires but nothing else. then working into the afternoon hours, cloudy skies. sprinkles. pockets of drizzle. but it's a chilly raw day. if you are travelling tomorrow no detroit and chicago rain showers, that system comings up to new england on thursday but again i don't think it's a weather system that gets in the way of your flights out of manchester boston or t.f.green, a few rain showers, nothing significant. atlanta looks ok. chicago looks okay on thursday. west coast that will feature some rain showers activity in seattle but dry in san francisco. forecast for the weekend, not a lot of sun. not a lot of warmth but not
