man who's in his 80s out of his home. they say he is the only person who was home when this fire broke out, and the neighbors say without them, they don't want to be called heroes, but without them, it is likely this man would not have survived. he was taken to the hospital where he is being treated right now. and they say the good news here is that he was conscious when he was taken away by ambulance. we're live in saugus, i'm alex deprado, 7news. alsore hit in hannaford parking lot and taken to the hospital. this all happening in waltham. >> several cars were also hit. kimberly bookman has more on this story for us from the scene. >> yeah the day before thanksgiving. supermarkets everywhere are absolutely packed, and today here at hannaford's on russell street in waltham is no exception. fire officials tell us around 4:30 afternoon, a female driver

stopped. her car hit at least five other parked vehicles before crashing into a mail worker collecting carriages here at hannaford's, the march was conscious and alert but taken to the hospital to get checked out. meantime, there was no one in the cars that got hit but as people came out to the lot after shopping many found major damage on their cars. >> i came out of the grocery store to find my the front and oven the side. i don't know what happened but i was told that i could get it fixed. this is the first time an accident like this has happened to me so i'm a little speechless. >> now, the driver of that lost control of that chevy malibu was also taken to a hospital for medical attention. we are told by fire official there is are some language barriers so they're still trying to figure out exactly what went

also breaking tonight, a boston attorney facing sexual assault charges, and this is not the first time he's been charged more than once and has never been convicted. yeah, all of that has been impounded by the district attorney and the lawyer of the man accused of this disturbing crime says it was all made up. >> reporter: he's been former prosecutor gary zorolla hid behind his attorney in court today as he pleaded not guilty to raping a woman in boston earlier this month. >> reporter: zorolla who was once featured in "people" magazine as a most eligible bachelor has faced charges in the past, the fourth time he's been charged with sexual assaulting women, twice in boston and a third florida about a decade ago. in all the cases he was either found not guilty or the charges

he's now a defense attorney and after court today he let his attorney defend him. >> he's nothing more than a target in this case. this is a case based upon a foundation of lies and we vigorously look forward to our day in court. >> reporter: the lainled sexual assault happened in the early-morning hours of november the 10th. >> the alleged victim was kissing mr. zorolla, was affectionate. confident that this case will end up like the other sexual assault cases against zorolla. >> the allegations are false and frivolous and the truth will come out in a court of law. >> the judge ordered that zorolla be held on $10,000 bail. his attorney says he expects to post that bail soon. tim caputo, 7news. also on 7, a live look over the sit of boston.

lots of high school and backyard football games probably slated for tomorrow and you'll probably need a coat for sure. >> how about a fire, too, inside. early in the morning it looks to be where the most concern is with tomorrow's forecast. right now very calm out there. even with the wind finally dying down. we have mostly clear skies. here's the mess that's trying to work its way in here for the it will start as possibly some spots of early wintery mix. clouds move in overnight tonight. the wind continues to fade away. 27 to 35. but that's really down for cape cod. we're looking at temperatures being near freezing or just below it as we wake up in the morning. if we do see any of that precipitation in that time, it could cause for some slick spots. here's running through the timeline. clouds moving in for us into the overnight hours, holding temperatures in the upper 20s

latest right now. steve cooper joins us live in dorchester with the story. steve. >> adam, some pretty dramatic moments playing out here overnight. it may have been caught on surveillance cameras. they're all over the place. but tonight the driver who sped away from the scene is behind bars. >> tease are police officers for one thing and they oughta protect us and you guys are hurting them. why? >> reporter: a scare stoughton street in dorchester just before 1:00 this morning when two undercover boston police officers investigating reports of a man with car in front of the dublin house. that's when the driver, who police have now offed as this man, 34-year-old vincent weeks of roxbury peeled away dragging the two officers down the street before he sped away. >> when the officers had to handle him, asked him to get out the car, he accelerated at a high rate of speed, dragging a couple of officers down the street. >> reporter: taken to brig man

>> turkey. >> me too. >> paulina lopez, the daughter of columbian immigrants, has spent two months in the hospital working hard at physical therapy twice a day. >> i feel very proud of her. she has been able to overcome all the things that have been happening to her. >> reporter: paulina was born a down syndrome kid but walked just fine until this fall, after getting an enter row virus, doctors believe paulina's body responded badly and developed acute flaccid mile identities. >> the doctors says germs can cause afm and they can have serious consequences, weakness in the limits, trouble walking. >> she couldn't wiggle her toes or do anything. >> the staff says she's full of fun.

a breeze in boston right now. light wind elsewhere. but that coupled with mostly clear skies will allow for our temperatures to drop very quickly into the overnight hours as they already are. we're talking mid-30s right now. upper 30s for boston, 39. and look at worcestli degrees. which could set the stage for some potential problems into tomorrow with this wintery mix on the way in our direction. however, it does look like there's some drier air that's mixing in for us, which means that if you have dryness and you don't have the moisture, then you wouldn't have the problems that would be associated with any flurries or any ice. the potential is still there, though, we can't rule it out completely. we'll walk you through the timeline so you know what to expect. we see the cloud cover

by 2:00, 3:00 a.m., there is the possibility that we get some of that have precipitation, albeit light, it could be drizzle, working into the picture here. and if it does so, whatever's wet or even white could cause for some spotty slick spots on the roads, driveways into early tomorrow morning. but by 9:00 a.m., we're warming up above the freezing mark. that concern's no longer there for us. and i think midday into the afternoon, we will keep it dry for the outdoor football games, maybe have you an afternoon then the drizzle works back into picture for the evening hours, 5:00, 6:00, we start to see light showers in the picture for us and that unsettled weather sticks around with us through the entire holiday weekend. so not really showing much for us as far as snow but here's the potential for spotty mix, slick spots away from the immediate coastline, again, until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. that concern there. your thanksgiving forecast for us, we top out in the low 40s as we head into the afternoon, and as far as the travel
