forecast. >> anchor: when will this rainy weather clear out? we got the weekend right around the corner. bri eggers to let us know. >> reporter: we need sunshine back. i think we can squeak rays of sunshine out of the clouds tomorrow. for now still seeing misty drizzly damp weather through the area. your light showers traveling spotty at best. and stretching into southeastern massachusetts in the next of hours. not worried about icy spots tonight. another spot of showers moving through the sea coast of new hampshire. light showers working through. they haven't amounted to much. they won't tomorrow either. it looks like it will be confined points south and east of the i-95 corridor with this system that moves to the north well off shore. sunday more sunshine in store

the northwest. here's the weekend in a package for you. might need the umbrella on stand by tomorrow. sunday we dry things out. more beneficial rain fall could be in store for us next week. more on that to come in a bit. >> anchor: turning to the other big headline of the day the holiday shopping rush. crowds of people scouring for sales at malls. it's black friday. shoppers are going all ou get their hands on gifts. amaka ubaka outside the south shore mall at brain tree. looks crowded behind you amaka. >> reporter: we've been out here for a couple of hours. it's still pretty busy. most shoppers i talked to said they expected to see these crowds. 137 million people will be out shopping in stores and online this weekend. having patience is key.

deals. >> reporter: as crowds packed the south shore mall looking for bargains. >> they had 70% off on everything. >> lots of victoria secret. they had good deals. >> reporter: the crowds have been steady here all day. it was packed this morning. that's where han ap says finding parking was a tough task. >> we went to the outlets in the morning it we drove around -- she drove around for 2 hours before we found a parking spot. >> reporter: for some black friday was something new to try. >> our first time ever black friday shopping. >> we walked in and were like oh my god. >> reporter: most shoppers were searching for clothes and shoes. all of them willing to deal with long lines to save cash. >> it's honestly been good. people were civil.

like a freight train came by and was banging. so when i looked out the pole was down. my car was spinning this way and the other car was just you know easily going down the road. >> anchor: officials say nobody was hurt. they're now not sure when power will be restore. >> reporter: police are still working to determine the cause of a deadly wrong way crash in plainville. a 22-year-old man from norton was killed when he am on to another car thanksgiving morning. a woman in the other car was badly hurt in the crash. >> anchor: a dangerous drive on i 93 last night. after allegedly crashing into a police cruiser. collided with the cruiser that was stopped to help another motorist. he failed field sobriety testing. the officer did suffer minor injuries. >> anchor: a driver called to court accused of hitting 4

dorchester. police say that man sped off when they approached him dragging 2 officers down the street. the details on today's arraignment. >> reporter: 34-year-old vincent weeks in court accused of dragging 2 boston police officers down the street. week's lawyers and family say police arrested the wrong man. >> he is innocent until proven guilty. you all don't know. >> reporter: prosecutors say on wednesday officers were sp with a gun. those officers reportedly approached a car. investigators say weeks who was behind the wheel took off drag the 2 officers. >> reaching in the car as both the officers were reaching in the car the defendant drove off. >> reporter: those officers plus 2 others were taken to brig ham

a 911 call. not for an emergency. this was to invite his local sheriff's department to thanksgiving dinner. he made that call as a thank you to police. just 9 years old. >> anchor: the department is saying thank you to him. >> reporter: adam and jadiann, it wasn't a call anyone at that police department expected. a boy with an odd request on that emergency line. >> boston county 911 what's the address of your emergency? >> reporter: it wasn't your typical typical emergency. he wanted someone to play with. >> [inaudible]. >> he invited us to come see him and have thanksgiving dinner with him. all of us who weren't busy headed over there. >> reporter: they let him sit in the driver's seat of a police car. let him play with the bells and whiffleles. >> he was happy.

settle in for the weekend, bri? >> reporter: we need sunshine in here. this weekend we can squeak some out as early as tomorrow. right now low clouds and dense fog setting up. boston, norwood as well. how dense it gets under a mile of visibility. bedford, worcester and the connecticut river valley. if you're headed out traveling around tonight it can get dense quickly and you hit a wall of fog. use the low beams there. as well as through southeastern mass cape cod in president next couple of hours. the light showers stretching through the sea coast of new hampshire are about to head off the shore of southern maine there. temperatures in the 40s for all of us at this point. martha's vineyard at 50 degrees currently. not concerned about spots freezing over on the roads tonight.

saturday could get a few rays of sunshine in here. you see the system that develops to our south. it heads out to see. it will throw light showers in our direction tomorrow. not for all of us. some of us will have to be on guard bringing the umbrella and hood with us. isolated showers overnight tonight. patchy fog. 35 to 43. into tomorrow showers most likely south and east of the i we could get sprinkles that happen in the interior and also peaks of sunshine. it's a bit of a mixed bag tomorrow with temperatures similar to today. sunday i think we dry things out. monday a lot of sunshine on tap. then we get wet weather for the middle of next week. tuesday, wednesday, thursday we get a couple of rounds of what looks like beneficial rain fall. this could be good news for us. i don't know if it will catch us

the wettest day is thursday. we're already changing the calendar over to december. this could be a slug of rain for us. we're 2 inches below average just for this month. it would be nice if we could catch up. i don't think that's possible. drought monitor not a lot of change in the last week last 2 weeks. here's a look at the 7 on 7:00 forecast. a lot of sunshine for usop because of the breeze out of the northwest. tuesday, wednesday, thursday milder temperatures on tap. but also the wet weather that could get quite windy for us on thursday as well. >> anchor: santa claus sailing in style at the cambridge side galleria. he's kicking off christmas season this black friday. greeting crowds as he arrives at
