morning. let's go to rob eicher for the check of the forecast. >> rob: nicole was happy to see the sunshine this morning. she sent this picture from beverly via twitter. look closely at the satellite picture, there are a couple of clouds hugging the coastline and a few more from new york here. for the most part it's a sunny day and definitely brighter than the last couple of days. 39 degrees currently, and here's the issue. a little breeze that makes it feel mor l that will be with us throughout the afternoon and into the evening hours. i have 45 here for the forecast for this afternoon, but it will feel more like upper 30s. we'll talk more about that rain in there for tuesday, wednesday and thursday coming up in a few minutes. >> nancy: thank you. breaking news. one person killed and nine others injured in a shooting on new orleans famed bourbon street early this morning. victims range between 20 and 37. two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting.

uclassic football game at the superdome. officials are still investigating. the latest on the death of a dictator. people remembering former cuban president fidel castro as the impact of his death friday night continues to resonate around the world. the streets of havana somber as cuba begins nine days of national mourning. flags being flown at half-staff, all activities and public performances canceled. meanwhile, giant planned for havana's revolution square starting on monday, and foreign dignitaries will arrive for a memorial service on tuesday evening. in little havana an entirely different tone with celebrations for a second night. cuban exiles pack the streets and wave the country's flag to mark his death. at the same time many are left wishes their relatives and friends that escaped the regime lived long enough to see this.

police try to track down a driver behind a wild hit-and-run in brockton. this dangerous driver caught on camera right outside a pob lar bar. we have the details. >> reporter: a horrific hit-and-run caught on individual yoi. a group is leaving the spot bar and lounge early saturday morning. brockton police say as the group crossed main street, one of them, a 25-year-old man, was hit by a car that came barreling down the road. the driver never stopping. >> it was a bad impact, as you prob bad impact. >> sha net sam owns the bar. >> we're a community here, and while i know i can't control everything, it happens on the street, i'm responsible for my patrons. >> reporter: the man was transported to brigham and women's hospital. he's in extremely critical condition. sam says that speeding outside his bar has been an ongoing problem. >> a bartender many years ago

people don't really abide by the speed limits here. >> reporter: police say while they have no plate number, they're already getting leads and towed a car that could be involved in the hit-and-run. >> we hope that this guy makes it. >> nancy: an investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a home in mad pan. they were responding to a possible break-in on bismarck street on saturday afternoon when they found her inside the home at the time. officials continue to investigate the death. >> we're not sure if it's an natural death at this time or there's some trauma. it's unfortunate. you know, the children have been taken to the up hospital, and we're just waiting to further examine the body. you know, right now it's a death investigation. >> nancy: authorities say the three children inside were all under the age of 4. police in springfield have identified a suspect after two men were shot early saturday

i think we're drying for most of the day on wednesday. another opportunity for rain coming in wednesday night into thursday. a couple of good chances of a good bit of rain in the next couple of days and 35 in boston and 5 35 in wore chest. 10, 15 in some spots closer to 20 miles per hour. you factor in the wind and dpeels a lot colder and have a windchill of 30. 29 in worcester and 289 in nashua. that makes an impact in the afternoon. even at peak heating middle of the afternoon today, temperature-wise in the mid-40s, but it will feel more like upper 30s to low 40s. it will be a couple of degrees colder this afternoon. normal this time of year is upper 40s. it feels more december-like than late november-like out there today. decent amount of sunshine, but if you look closely at the satellite imagery, you see a few clouds hugging the coast.

california police officer in critical condition after he was hit in the head with a skateboard that happened during a police chase in san francisco. today the up man accused of using the board as a weapon is in custody. jonathan hall has more. >> reporter: the security video shows the suspect running down the streed after he allegedly attacked an officer in california. the suspect was captured moments later. >> he's a 12-year veteran married with two young assigned to the motorcycle unit, starbucks customers in downtown south san francisco waved down the officer saying the suspect was creating a disturbance. as he was talking to him, he darted down the street on his skateboard. antonio figueroa was close by. he said there was a shot foot chase, and an officer in a patrol car joined in. he said the suspect suddenly

and he fell to the ground. the police chief says the suspect has a long rap sheet including some violent offenses. >> my son he knows this. he's just a little mental. >> reporter: his mother says her son has mental health issues and does take medication. was he taking his medication yesterday? >> i don't know. he left very early in the morning. >> reporter: jonathan news today in new england." >> he's been booked on a charge of attempted murder. in a car crash caught on camera in california, this security camera shows this car approaching and crashing into a convenience store. police say the driver's brakes got stuck causing her to crash into the building. luckily the store was closed. at the time of the crash there were no reports of any injuries. in north dakota residents show support for law enforcement officers working the dakota access pipeline protests.

back the blue rally on saturday. organizers called for pieople t pray and march for officers. organizers say the rally wasn't antior pro-pipeline but an effort to unite the community. >> we want to show our support for the law enforcement keeping us safe from the activities going on. >> they're put under such strain right now, and they have just -- the time that they've put in, it's ridiculous. >> people there say they hope the rally unites the community. pipeline state have been gone on for months now. environmental activists claim it will pollute nearby water sources. it's about 85% constructed right now. some heart-warming moments if florida after three dogs are rescued from a house fire. they pulled the animals from the home there. they were revived by a dozen firefighters that gave them oxygen and water. the animals are now doing much better.

p-town. you factor in the wind and it's colder. feels like 35 in p-town, 30 is the current windchill in boston. a windchill of 24 in worcester. that's an issue in the middle of afternoon. even in the peak heating it's mid-40s, but factor in the wind it's 5 to so degrees colder than the actual numbers. upper 30s is about what it will feel like a little later on this afternoon. the wind calms down this evening, but the temperatures drop one of those nights where many of us get well down into the 20s. that's the actual air temperature late tonight, so when you go back to work tomorrow morning or back to school, it will be pretty chilly. look closely at the satellite imagery and you see a couple of clouds kind of screaming in hugging the immediate coastline here. a few more come in from new york. so it's not going to be 100% sunny, but still a mostly sunny day and definitely brater than the last couple of days. here's another look at the storm
