we begin today with breaking news out of ohio. an attack at ohio state university a suspect is now dead. the scene we're told is now clear but classes are canceled for the day. >> many students reported hearing gunfire on campus. let's get to dan hausle with the latest. >> that all clear sign came about 25 minutes ago. there are reports a suspect was shot and killed by police and the fire department said seven people were taken to local

tweet just after 10:00 warning of an active shooter situation in a classroom building. students were told to run, hide, fight, a standard warning in this situation. armed police responded. one report says police shot and killed a gunman. cnn quotes a source saying the suspect mostly used a knife and car in the attack. no word on if there might be more suspects. in phone calls from hiding places some hearing gunshots. two taken to the hospital are in stable condition. no word on the others. as many as at nine were taken to the hospital and there are several reports a suspect is dead. one report says shot and killed by police who continue to investigate. within the last half hour they tweeted all clear and lifted the shelter in place but announced all classes have been canceled for the rest of the day. live in the newsroom, dan

get them. >> christa: now breaking news out of brockton, the victim in last week's hit and run has died. this happened friday morning just as a group of people was crossing the street outside of a popular bar. >> sarah: the driver has turned himself in. jennifer eagan is live in brockton with the latest developments. >> reporter: sad update, the district attorney's office tells us the 25-year-old victim passed away from his injuries this morning. detectives believe they've identified the driver and they say that person turned himself in to state police for questioning. that man is not being identified right now until charged. but police believe he was behind the wheel of a 2012 jaguar friday morning around 1:30. witnesses told police the victim, 25-year-old sergio lasonna was crossing the street outside the spot nightclub when struck. the driver did not stop. people rushed to the victim's

hospital in boston where he died this morning. right now the d.a. office is not identifying the driver. they're working out possible charges right now but the driver has turned himself in in this case. we're live in brockton, jennifer eagan, 7news. >> sarah: a car burst into flames after crashing into a logan express bus. three people were injured and taken to the hospital. victoria warren has the details. >> reporter: the crash haed morning. the car tee boning the bus. three people went to the hospital and there was a pretty big fuel spill. a car on fire, chelsea firefighters raced to the scene after this terrible crash on eastern avenue. the car with four people inside t-boned a logan express bus. >> the nature of the accident, the car hit a bus and where the section of the bus it hit happen

the car burst into flames, all four people got themselves out despite being hurt. >> three of those passengers were transported with injuries to local hospitals. one passenger declined medical treatment. >> the injuries not life-threatening and the crash caused a second major problem, 120 gallons of fuel gushing from the bus, some finding its way into two storm drains. the chelsea fire department working with clean harbors for >> we estimate 20-30 gallons leaked into the storm drains so that's -- we're in the process of making sure those storm drains are pumped out. >> reporter: just within the last hour, they finished pumping those storm drains out so that's good news. as for the cause of the crash in the first place that's something that remains under investigation. live in chelsea, victoria warren, 7news. >> christa: a swampscott man indicted for a crash in east

to court. two tourists died in the crash. let's head to steve cooper live at suffolk superior court with more. >> reporter: so three months after that violent crash, that driver who police say was speeding at the time and was drunk at the time faced a judge here. >> steven beerenbalm pleads not guilty to several charges including two vehicle homicide while under the influence. >> he struck the rear of the shuttle at a minimum of 76 miles an hour. >> the 27-year-old was speeding and had a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit when it plowed into a shuttle van outside the ted williams tunnel. five people were in the shuttle, two passengers both from texas were thrown from the van and pronounced dead at the scene. >> were you drunk?

writing serious voter fraud in virginia, new hampshire, california. so why isn't the media reporting on this? serious bias. big problem. it didn't take long for granite state lawmakers to respond. tom rath, who opposed trump tweeted this will probably cost me a spot in the cabinet but there was no fraud in new hampshire. there just wasn't. a spokesperson from for senator-elect the tweet is unsubstantiated. >> this was a hack-riddled election and on top of that, our voting machines are very open to hacking. >> the president-elect's chief of staff fighting back. >> this is a fundraising, notoriety driven fraud by a person who won 33 thousand votes

>> hillary clinton's campaign lawyers didn't uncover any evidence of hacking. live in the news courtroom, kris anderson. >> sarah: celebrations at miami international airport after the first commercial flight flew direct to havana, cuba. the flight took off this morning and landed about 8:30 local time. there had been charter flights to other provinces since september but this is the first direct flight in more than 50 fidel castro. there will be a simultaneous 21 gun salute in havana as well as santiago. cubans will pay respects throughout the country at different memorials today and tomorrow. a public mass will be in revolution plaza in havana on tuesday night. castro died friday at the age of 90. the country on the third day of mourning.

right now mostly sunny skies. the cape has seen additional clouds here this morning, ocean effect. those are scooting out. it's not breezy, it's quite comfortable today so hopefully you can enjoy. we're 43 in medford, 45 in providence and p-town in the low 40s. we're consistently around our seasonable temperatures around normal highs for this time of year. high pressure is in command of the weather today but we have a warm front moving in from thewe weather that's been out that way. as we head into tomorrow we're looking at the likely chance for rain showers. this is moderate to heavy rainfall at times and consistently through southern new england. by the time you head home from work, we're dealing with moderate to heavy rainfall, especially tomorrow afternoon and early evening. it refs up into your day tomorrow. this wraps up quickly. that scoots out. a fast-moving front.

break, drying out briefly. our next system actually approaches, low pressure builds to the northwest and brings another round of rain, especially as we head into wednesday afternoon through wednesday night into thursday morning. when exactly we dry out, models are playing with that but it looks like it's primarily wednesday afternoon into wednesday night and wrapping up early thursday morning. here's a look at rainfall totals, by tomorrow night a lot of us will have aal wednesday, you can see the rainfall totals go to almost 2 inches for many locations. by the end of the workweek, we're chipping away at the deficit significantly with a couple additional inches of rainfall, locally 3 inches for spots that see heavier rain. a chance for rain tomorrow and wednesday, mostly wednesday afternoon into thursday morning, drying out into the thursday forecast. highs in the mid 40s with lows tonight similar to this morning.

>> i haven't either, only peered from the inside out. it's nice compared to tomorrow. sounds like a rainy one. >> that's right. but it could be snowing. we're almost to december here and we're talking about very mild weather. seasonable actually. plenty of sunshine and temperatures will warm as we head into the week. first, right now we're largely in the mid 40s, 44 in norwood, 43 in bedford, orange the low 40s but they warmed up from 22 this morning. so we s this morning but we're all heading to the mid 40s with plenty of sunshine. the cape having lost a lot of cloud cover they've seen as well so everybody's enjoying the sunshine. as we head into the overnight, cloud cover thickness as a warm front pushes into new england bringing wet weather. we're not looking at a moisture starved system. last week we saw drizzle, this week appreciable appraisal

showers in southern new england. we could see rain on the way to work. we're seeing that during the lunch hour. as you head home from work, a moderate chance -- to heavy rainfall when the intensity peaks. as we head into the rest of your forecast, you can see we have mostly cloudy skies into wednesday but we briefly dry out wednesday morning. then a secondary system pulls through wednesday afternoon so wedding a setting round moisture. both systems will bring moisture to southern new england. a look at the totals, tuesday evening, a lot of us will have anywhere from a quarter inch of rain up to three quarters of an inch of rain then it tapers off for us, briefly dry out. by thursday morning after the second system pulls through, we're talking about two inches of rain for many locations. around an inch and a half for some and locally a couple spots with three inches of rainfall so
