expected to drop a bit. >> anchor: we could see freezing drizzle in parts of our area. jeremy reiner with a look at all that. >> reporter: cold pockets of air developing all over southern new england. the city at 43. orange at 27. for tonight becoming cloudy. temperatures on the rise late tonight. and then the numbers climb into the lower 30s early tomorrow morning. clouds ahead of our next storm system which is over here this evening. this is a decent plume of rain. thunderstorms marching across the miss misriver valley. rain is on the move. cloudy skies. temps in the low to mid 30s. through the afternoon and evening commute. temps tomorrow mid 40s. the concern tomorrow morning with temperatures near 34 there may be pockets of patchy freezing drizzle.

boston. the outer route 2 corridor the worcester hills the connecticut river valley there may be pockets of freezing drizzle. not widespread. it doesn't take much to glaze over those roads. be mindful of that early tomorrow morning. patchy of freezing drizzle possible in the worcester hills. >> anchor: a late night out in brockton turns deadly after this hit and run. the crash caught on investigators saying a 25-year-old man died. alex deprado live in brockton with the latest. >> reporter: charges against the driver are expected to be upgraded now that this man has died. that driver will be brought here to brockton district court to face those charges. >> i don't know another word for it. it's despicable.

residents shocked and saddened to find out the 25-year-old man seen in this surveillance video on north main street in brockton who was struck by a driver who never stopped died early this morning at a boston hospital according to the district attorney. >> too bad too sad. you can't hit and run. you tell the cops. you tell them it's my fault. you explain. you don't run. >> reporter: detectives located the r jaguar determined the owner wasn't behind the wheel. the person who was driving turned themselves in and is being question bide police. >> to leave somebody after you hit them. that's bad. put away for a long time. >> reporter: their thoughts right now are with the victim's sergio la cona's family. wife and 3 children. >> too sad for that person and

>> i mean it's terrible. especially around this time of year to have something like that happen to you or to the family. the family the one that's going to grieve now. >> reporter: state troopers are now handling this investigation and the driver's name has not been released. live in brockton alex deprado 7 news. >> anchor: following a developing story out of golden new hampshire where the attorney general is investigating the death of a 2-year-old child. taken to the hospital 911 call on saturday and pronounced dead. the chief medical examiner ruled her death as homicide. >> anchor: developing story in west wood a person flown to the hospital after they were hit walking on weatherby drive. they were taken out of an ambulance and loaded into a medical helicopter. police tell us there's no sign of criminal wrong doing in this crash. >> anchor: following more news

>> it's not real. you go numb. >> anchor: chaos on campus at ohio state university. an 18-year-old man drove into a crowd of students and started stabbing them with a butcher knife. police say this attack was deliberate. they're trying to figure out why. >> reporter: investigators identify that attacker now as abdual artan an 18-year-old ohio state student. legal u.s. residents. this has the signs of being a terror attack carried out by someone who was self radicalized. students piling up chairs as they hide in classrooms. all this after the university tweet ace warning about an active shooter situation and tells students to run, hide, fight. >> we heard the chaos.

of thing. >> reporter: the emergency was triggered by a man who drove up on a sidewalk outside a classroom building attacking students and staffers with his car and a knife. >> a male suspect drove a vehicle over the curb struck pedestrians. he exit the vehicle and used a butcher knife to start cutting pedestrians. >> reporter: investigators say the only shots were fired by an officer who got there in a minute killed him. >> when the officer engaged the suspect. an osupd officer was there and took quick action. we believe that injuries were minimized as a result of that. >> reporter: students stayed hidden while police moved through buildings. >> it was terrifying. you don't know especially so close to the building where it happened.

the judge did not order her to stay away from her daughter. mcgowan is voluntarily staying away from her until she gets better. >> she voluntarily at that time giving up her right to that child. as well as an ultimate goal of reunification. >> reporter: mcgowan was ordered to stay in that drug treatment program. and they've placed her with another family in lawrence byron barnett 7 news. >> anchor: a man facing charges after a deadly crash in boston. 27-year-old steven barrenbaum pleaded not guilty to several charges including motor vehicle homicide while under the influence. police say he crashed into an airport shuttle van in august kill it would go tourists. police say he was drunk and

it will be cold this evening. as clouds back toward new york and pennsylvania stream this way temps rise a bit. and then i think for overnight tonight and tomorrow morning all in the low and mid 30s. big storm power house storm across the dakotas. snow out there on the front side of the storm. even severe thunderstorms this evening. even had reports of tornados for a time this storm system has a lot going for it. a couple of weaker storms will break off the main storm out there tomorrow and wednesday. these weaker storms will come at us with a punch of rain tomorrow afternoon. then there's a break in the action tomorrow night and wednesday morning. second punch of rain at us wednesday afternoon and wednesday night. then into the sunshine on thursday. thursday is looking like a nice

morning commute will feature patchy drizzle. even some downpours in the evening commute. we talked about this at the top of the news. likely to be colder pockets of air worcester hills route 2 corridor for patchy freezing drizzle f. you're out and about tomorrow morning a bit of freezing drizzle possible. otherwise this is a rain event. and then another batch of rain comes our way the timing for both of the commutes will stink. i think that will follow the tuesday evening commute and the wednesday evening commute. we're in this drought. we'll take what we can get. a lot of us will end up with 1 and a half to 2 inches of beneficial rain. thursday morning some clouds. breezy milder. temps down thursday. the upcoming weekend saturday
