other factors led to him setting bond.slager was placed on house arrest.. until his trial -- which is schedule to start on october 31st. 3 slager is charged in the death of walter scott in april of last year. year.he was arrested after this cell phone video surfaced...showing slager shooting scott in the back-- as he's seen running away from a traffic stop.officers say slager fired eight times... killing scott.the attornrn for scott's family spoke after 3 3 have a constitutional right to appear before the judge and request bond. today is just another step in the criminal justice process. but we still fully believe, and the family believes, that at the end of the day justice will prevail." prevail."slager's attorney fought for a speedy trial... but the ninth circuit solicitor-- filed a motion... asking for a later date because she is also working on the case against the suspect in the emanuel ame church shootings. 3 3 later today president obama is

proposal to dump coal ash in the area -- and leaders are listening. listening.on monday night-- leaders passed a resolution opposing the plan that would bring thousands of tons of coal ash to a dump near liberty.the council says the proposal by "m-m-r pickens l-l- c" to dump the coal ash does not meet the county's solid waste disposal plan.after writing their concerns to d-hec last month - they said the project would cause environmental concerns and bring unwanted waste to pickens. 3 if you take the southern connector to work, it's going to look a little different today.toll booths will be **purple this month to support the american cancer society: relay for life.toll collectors will also be wearing purple -- and purple lights will shine every tuesday.. until the 26th. for every toll they collect, 10 cents will be donated to the relay for life.one of the southern connector's founders -- "thomas warwick" -- died from cancer.according to the american cancer society -- purple is the universal color for all cancers. 3 clemson is busy preparing for their trip to the national championship and believe it or
