and killed by a former north charleston police officer are calling for peace now that he is out of jail. jail.after nearly nine months behind bars michael slager walked out of jail monday night.slager was granted a 500- thousand dollar bond earlier in the day.a judge said the long delay before the trial date and other factors led to him setting bond.slager was placed on house arrest until his trial which is schedule to start on october 31st. 3 slager is charged in the death of walter scott in april of last year. year.he was arrested after this cell phone video surfaced...showing slager shooting scott in the back-- as he's seen running away from a traffic stop.officers say slager fired eight times... killing scott.the attorney for scott's family spoke after that bond was granted. 3 3 3 "all criminal defendants do have a constitutional right to appear before the judge and request bond. today is just another step in the criminal justice process. but we still fully believe, and the family believes, that at the end of

3 welcome back to the morning news on fox carolina--we're taking a live look at...woodruff road... greenville... cold! 3 3 covering our counties. in greenville county-- one person is recovering and another is being questioned after a stabbing. stabbing.it happened monday night on "long forest drive" in berea. 3 this is video you'll see only on fox.deputies are describing the case as a domestic incident. the victim was taken to the hospital butno other information was released. 3 in pickens county:many people are expreing proposal to dump coal ash in the area -- and leaders are listening. listening.on monday night-- leaders passed a resolution opposing the plan that would bring thousands of tons of coal ash to a dump near liberty.the council says the proposal by "m-m-r pickens l-l- c" to dump the coal ash does not meet the county's solid waste disposal plan.after

3 welcome back to the morning news on fox carolina--we're taking a live look at... greenville county.. eye-85 3 thanks to an n-c-a-a rule, the clemson tigers will have less time to practice for the national title game than alabama. alabama.that's right - the rule states teams must limit athletic activities to 20 hours a week while class is in session -- and 4 hours a day. that includes weight lifting, film sessions, and meetings. according to the rule, the game itself also counts as three hours toward the 20 hour limit. the rule takes affect for clemson wednesday when their spring semester starts. however, the limit will not affect alabama because their spring semester doesn't start until after the championship

spartanburg county deputies were called in for back up. we're told when he eventually stopped, he didn't get out of the car and hit an officer when he tried to pull him out. cohen played football for spartanburg high.he was drafted in 2008 and has played for several n-f-l teams. 3 police in greenville county are working with sled to investigate an allegation of excessive force by an officer. 3 police say reports showed up on social media claiming one of their officers was at fault during a traffic stop on december 15. the allegation states the officer slammed "jaquan williams" to the ground causing his teeth to be knocked out. 3 these photos were reportedly taken at the time of booking and release.police say williams was taken to the ground during a lawful arrest. 3 leaders with polk county's only animal shelter say they need your help finding homes for their 4-legged friends. friends.foothills humane society says they're now a no- kill shelter.they take in strays and surrendered pets from across the area but need help finding homes for them. executive director "chris
