3 3 in the lowcountry -- 14 citadel cadets are facing disciplinary action thth morning...it's after an extensive investigation into controversial pictures that were posted online. online.this all stemmed from pictures posted on social media back in december.they show students wearing sheets and pillowcases on their heads --that many say resemble the k-k-k.after a thorough investigation -- school leaders say the students claim they were tyring to dress as "ghosts of christmas past...." but the citadel's president says they should've had better judgment. 3 3 3 "the second they thought it was going to be offensive or could be misconstrued, they should have stopped and that was a leadership failure." failure."school leaders say seven juniors and seven freshmen are now facing

elementary parent-teacher- organization and others urged the school board not to close the small school at monday's meeting.some board members believe consolidating some schools may be the best option... when it comes to the district's bottom line.hagood students could potentially go to three other elementary schools in the county.right now... many families say they will keep pushing... for what's best for their kids. 3 we have a lot of work ahead of us but we do not have much time. the administrative staff, they have got to know, they have got to hire teachers, they have got to get people moved, if we do move them, we have got lots of work to do and we have got to do it quickly. quickly.the district is looking for new locations for adult education as well as alternative education... and one idea is to close hagood and move those services there. they say they hope to improve the effienciency of existing schools.the board hopes to present proposals by mid-march. 3 it's a job scam that may not be new -- but there have been several reports of victims in the upstate.

3 an overnight lockdown is over at winston-salem state university. university.police lifted the lockdown several hours after someone reported seeing a person with a gun on campus monday night.no shots were ever reported and investigators say the suspect left the area with two men.no arrests have been made. 3 law enforcement in california are looking for three orange county inmates after they rappelled from the jail's roof friday.all three are considered extremely dangerous with possible gang connections. rewards of about 50-thousand dollars are being offered for help in their capture.jail reps say this is the first escape at the facility since 1996. 3 meanwhile juveniles in federal prison will not have to worry about solitary confinement anymore. anymore.president obama says he's banning that punishment because of the long-term psychological effects it has on inmates.he made the announcement monday along with other reforms designed to improve federal prisons.the change is expected to affect about ten thousand prisoners.
