3 this morning.. we're waiting to get an update on the standoff at an oregon wildlife refuge.. after one of the protesters was killed and the group's leader was arrested. arrested.tuesday night.. investigators say ammon bundy and several others were pulled over while heading to a community meeting.at some point, shots were fired, killing one of the protesters. he's been identified as "lavoy finnicum".. who has been one of the most outspoken protesters.ammon bundy and seven others are now behind bars.it's not clear how many protesters are still occupying the wildlife refuge.the group seized the refuge january second.. to protest the federal convictions of two ranchers. 3 3 covering our counties--a henderson county couple will not go to jail after a toddler was accidentally shot and killed in their home. home.heather and james stepp pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor weapons charge. they were each given 45 days in jail, which was suspended. they will also serve a year of

fine.back in october.. two year old abagail newman was staying at the stepp's home.. when she was accidentally shot by a loaded shotgun that was left on a table.prosecutors say the case is a horrible tragedy... and they hoped for a quick resolution so everyone could move on. 3 this morning, all of our upstate school districts are now back on regular schedule. schedule.now some parents in greenville county say they need a better system for deciding when snow days should be used. used.as of now.. if one part of the county is too icy.. all schools close or have a delay. some parents are suggesting they split the county into zones.. so if some areas are clear.. those schools could open.district leaders tell us there's not an easy way to split up the county.they also say many students and staff live outside county lines.. and the first priority is making sure they can travel safely. 3 3 as clemson's men's basketball team returns to the well tonight-- one of the school's star athletes is set to accept a special award. award.fox carolina ashley

back with a live look over greenville county. 3 3 in seattle.. police are investigating a shooting at a homeless camp that left two people dead and three others hurt. hurt.police say the shooting happened just south of downtown, in a place known as "the jungle."investigators say the victims range in age from 25 to 45.police are searching for two persons of interest.. but no other details are being released. 3 3 lawmakers in the south carolina senate are moving forward with a bill that would protect people who take photos or video of police officers. officers.the senate judiciary committee approved the plan tuesday.the bill specifies that people standing on public property have the right to film.. and that police cannot take their cameras or threaten them. them.this all stems from the death of walter scott last april.prosecutors filed charges against officer michael slager after seeing a bystander's video of the shooting. 3 a panel of state senators has approved a plan to change how the leadership is chosen at the d-o-t.
