and the person who lived there was woken up by neighbors. thankfully everyone got out safely.its still not clear what started the fire.we are working on getting more information and we'll pass it along as we get it. 3 also breaking out of the lowcountry, a berkeley county deputy is recovering afer being shot. shot.investigators say the female deputy was getting out of her car in goose creek around midnight when she was shot.north charleston police say the suspect was in a standoff for hours--but died a little while ago after taking his own life.the sheriff's office's facebook says the deputy is in stable condition. we'll update you on this story as it develops -- on air and online at fox carolina dot com. 3 we are also following a developing story out of kansas this morning.a gunman and three other people are dead after a series of shootings in the south-central part of the state. 3 the harvey county sheriff says the suspect killed three people inside a manufacturing plant where they worked.the suspect was shot and killed by police.authorities say before

3 covering our counties--a family in oconee county is without a home and their pet after a fire on thursday. thursday.emergency crews were called to wilderness road in fair play around 2:00 in the afternoon.these are photos sent to us by fire chief charlie king.we're told it took about 25 minutes to get the flames under control controlinvestigators say a family dog died in the fire.. and everything in the home is destroyed.authorities believe it was an accident. 3 a man is going to prison for 18 years for killing a man in spartanburg county more than two years ago. ago.dannie hamilton was originally charged with murder, but agreed to plead guilty to manslaughter. manslaughter.hamilton shot and killed brandon bryant in october of 2014.the shooting happened right outside bryant's mother's home. home.witnesses say hamilton had been firing his gun

officer-involved shooting inside his home --while deputies were investigating a reported robbery. 3 this was the scene outside rosemond's apartment complex in taylors.deputies say they identifed themselves before forcing entry into the home. rosemond fired one shot hitting deputy dave dempsey in the head before deputies returned fire. the lawsuit filed on thursday --alleges the shooting resulted from excessive force... and that deputies hadn't been invited into the home. 3 in the on-going legal battle surrounding the death of clemson student tucker hipps -- the sigma phi epsion fraternity has filed a response to a lawsuit from hipps' family. 3 hipps died in september of 2014 while on an early morning run with his fraternity brothers.that fraternity-- is denying any responsibility for tucker's death. death.the fraternity denies hipps' fall, injuries and death from the highway-93 bridge were caused by fraternity brothers' gross negligence and recklessness, and that any injuries or damages sustained were caused by hipps' own fault" while the fraternity did confirm tucker

this morning..we're told the fire started in one of the units and the person who lived there was woken up by neighbors.thankfully everyone got out safely.its still not clear what started the fire. 3 3 pickens county neighbors may not have to worry about coal ash being dumped in some landfills any more. more.state lawmakers approved a bill that will prevent the dumping of coal ash in class-3 landfills on thursday.many people have voiced opposition to bringing coal ash into pickens county.the company "m-r-r" is suing the county for 25 million dollars.. because they want to dump coal ash at a landfill in liberty. if the bill is signed by the company's lawsuit. 3 spartanburg county deputies need your help finding a man they say used cloned credit cards. cards.this is a look at the suspect but they don't know his name.they say he is tied to a string of thefts including one at the walgreen's in spartanburg. according to investigators -- the man bought more than 500- dollars with the bad card.
