good morning, we have a very seasonal recipe for you. i'm joined again by our fareway expert whitney packebush for this week's centsable health. it's all about the pumpkin, you have a sweet treat for us. yes they're called cookies but they're more like a breakfast. so you can make them in any shape you want, i just made them as cookies. they are pumpkin oatmeal cookies. these would be a great before or after workout snack as well. so i have two cups of oatmeal. i used a mix of the quick mix and the old fashioned but feel free to use what you want. we are going to add a half cup of dried cranberries. i did use the 50 percent less sugar because dried fruit can have a lot of sugar if you're not careful. some pumpkin seeds, you can also use flower seeds, dried flax for some fiber. and that's it for our dry ingredients. next for our wet ingredients, i have put some coconut oil in for our fat. it's been very popular for weight loss, to heart health, just about everything. some canned pumpkin of course, it's about a half cup. i added some honey because the normal
8:18 am
canned pumpkin isn't sweet, you don't want to get the normal one which is very rich potassium, vitamin a, fiber. we add some egg beaters. you can also just use two eggs. and some pumpkin pie spice. you're going minutes at 325 degrees. then you'll want to pop them in the freezer. that's how i like to eat, straight out of the freezer. the doesn't get overly hard. these do not spread out when they bake. i use measuring cup to any shape you want and they stay that way. great breakfast option. if you want the recipe go to our website our fareway stores dot com. or email whitney centsablehealth @ fareway stores dot com. thanks for joining us. we'll be back
