two days from the critical vote here in iowa, hillary clinton finds herself back under the cloud of the email controversy the state department confirmed for the first time that some of the emails on her personal email server contained government information so secret, it fell under the highest level of classification. andrea mitchell has the story as hillary clinton was campaigning in iowa - the state department dropped the email bombshell: for the first time, labeling 22 emails from her private server top secret - the highest level of classification - as demanded by the intelligence agencies: "these documents were not marked classified at the time they were sent." just minutes earlier, lester had asked clinton about how the email investigation might affect her campaign: anything could happen, indictments could happen. why shouldn't people, as

question, worry about this hanging over your head as you move forward. because the facts have remained the same there was never any information sent or received that was marked classified to me for people who are watching this play out and know the republicans will come after you with an open investigation, shouldn't people have some concern? no they shouldn't lester. i just don't see it as anything that will in any way cause a voter, a voter with an open mind to have any concerns. clinton's campaign called it a bureaucratic turf battle - these emails should be released so that the public can view them. this is an example of over classification run amok. jeb bush tweeted: "we need a president who can be trusted to keep our secrets secret. obviously that's not @hillaryclinton" "this is unacceptable. this is a disqualifier" bernie sanders campaign says he stands by this: the american people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn e-mails. the state department wont be releasing these emails now, and

there are those who say we cannot defeat a corrupt political system and fix a rigged economy. but i believe we need to lift our vision above the obstacles in place and look to the american horizon. to a nation where every child can not only dream of going to college, but attend one. where quality healthcare will be a birthright of every citizen. where a good job is not a wish, but a reality. where women receive equal pay and a living wage is paid to all. an america where after a lifetime of labor,

all of us have a responsibility, to ourselves, to our children, to each other. we intend to be sure that everybody in this room and every child in this state is somebody. no matter where they're born, no matter to whom they are born. our children's future is shaped both by the values of their parents and the policies of their nation. it's time to protect the next generation, fill the lives of our children with possibility and hope, open up the doors so that every child has a chance to live up to his or her god-given potential. i've spent my life fighting for children, families and our country, and i'm not stopping now. (crowd cheers) i'm hillary clinton, and i have always approved this message.
