one, we know was flown to a des moines hospital by helicopter. no word on their condition this morning. police have yet to name any suspects or say what led to the shooting. we're expecting to hear more on this later this morning. today, the cyride bus driver accused in a deadly hit and run is set to face a judge... 23 year old benjamin clague is accused of killing emmalee jacobs near campus last december. his arraignment is scheduled for 1-30 today in nevada court. ames police say clague hit the college student as she was crossing lincoln way. jacobs later died in the hospital... bus video led police to arrest clague about a month later. it includes incriminating audio of the accident and shows him stop soon after to check his bus for damage. he now faces five years in prison if convicted. governor terry branstad has

staff today... it's all to honor supreme court justice scalia, who died over the weekend. the governor and his wife expressed condolences in a statement yesterday. it reads ...quote "chris and i wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family of justice scalia. he was a brilliant constitutional scholar that adhered the original intent that the founding fathers had for our u-s constitution.... flags will remain at half staff today until sunset tonight. tanning bed opponents are preparing to win over law makers this morning... tomorrow about 100 iowans -- including melanoma survivors -- will crowd the state capitol to convince lawmakers this is the year to take action. they want minors banned from using tanning beds. bills like that have come up before... but they've never gotten very far. now all the talk about a

this week, the obama administration rolled out a $4.1 trillion budget deal with an $18 billion cut to crop insurance. some lawmakers were quick to voice disapproval of the plan. house ag chair mike conaway says it would be a sever blow to farmers. pat roberts, the senate ag chair, calls the new budget an attack on risk management. iowa senator chuck grassley also voiced disapproval in a conference call, he says the budget as a whole usually gets no support and the individual issues in it will get looked at. but when it comes to crop insurance cuts, he points to the omnibus spending package last year, where they got cuts removed. grassley says, "legislators plus the white house want to take money out of crop insurance. we

the body of late supreme court justice antonin scalia returns home to virginia today. that's as the talk surrounding his replacement only grows louder... a hearse carrying the justice departed a funeral home for el paso international airport sunday. the 79-year-old justice died in his sleep while on a hunting trip in texas. he was found unresponsive saturday morning. c-n-n reports scalia's family and texas officials have decided not to do an autopsy. no word on an official cause of death. scalia's death leaves eight justices on the court -- an even split between liberals and conservatives. ... that made for a hot topic during saturday's republican debate. after a moment of silence to honor scalia... the candidates were asked how things should move forward. president obama has said he intends to name scalia's replacement... but some believe the decision should be delayed.

president obama's pick... in an effort to give a new republican president a chance to make the nomination. "so i believe the president should not move forward and i think we ought to let the next president of the united state decide who is going to run that supreme court with a vote by the people of the united states of america " president obama says he plans to move forward quickly... and is urging the supreme court to give his nominee a fair hearing and a timely vote. today republican candidate jeb bush gets a boost from a fellow bush... former president george w. bush hits the campaign trail this morning--to help his brother. he'll will appear with jeb at a rally in south carolina. jeb says george w. can vouch for his readiness to be commander in chief. he's also hoping it gives him more momentum to recover from a fourth place finish in new hampshire.
