and his coach says his positive outlook and skills on the mat have made him a natural leader... 'hes doing a great job, hes a great leader for us in the room and off the mat and in the classroom, thats the kind of kid you want great character.' for caleb the risk is worth the reward and although his parents are nervous it's a passion they couldn't hold their son back from.... a western iowa police chief was the focus of protests this week... the protestors rallied outside the denison police department yesterday. they are outraged after an investigation found racist and pornographic pictures from police chief john emswiler on a city- owned computer. what he's got on his computer is not right and i think any reasonable person would agree. basically trying to get it out there saying he this is what's going on here this is the reason the things are they way they are and it needs to change." the city says police chief emswiler was disciplined.... but won't say what that discipline involved. the chief has also refused to comment. police say a pair of traffic violations led to a roll over crash in urbandale today... police say the driver of this car was speeding... and ran a stop sign along 66th street. the car slammed into an s-u-v... rolled into a nearby house... and finally came to rest on its top. the driver was hospitalized in unknown condition. the s-u-v driver was treated at the scene. police are still investigating the crash but say charges are likely.

landed safely in waterloo this afternoon. their american airlines flight from sioux falls to chicago was diverted to waterloo because of a smell of smoke in the cockpit. passengers also reported the floor of the plane was extremely hot. a replacement plane was brought in from chicago in order to get passengers to their final destination. dupont-pioneer is cutting iowa jobs in the lead-up to its merger with dow chemical... according to the des moines register.. .they've shed 175-jobs since december... despite the job cuts.. tomorrow the iowa economic development board will consider tax breaks for the company. dupont-pioneer has applied for the state funding through iowa's high-quality jobs program. the board would not say how much money the company is asking for. the johnston city council has also scheduled special session for tomorrow afternoon. that's because any incentive awarded by the state requires matching support from the city. back in december johnston-based pioneer warned it might not be able to meet the state's requirement of
