state championship in a few weeks... this is the second year in a row the team will advance to state... for some of the players they have made the trip to state before... but for most players this is their first year on the team. the team hosted a bake sale today and raised close to 3 - hundred dollars to help fund their trip. for the players... its all about coming together for the love of the game and each other. this gives them other opportunities to compete to learn how to be on a team and to gain confidence and also learn athletic skills beyond just the special olympics competition. the team will play in the state competition on march 11 -th and 12 - th in bloomington, illinois and it was hard to avoid the smell of bacon the air downtown des moines. the blue ribbon bacon festival

clinched another title, their 3rd in the last 4 years. fort dodge in 2nd valley 3rd. class 2a. creston orient macksburg on top and looking for their 2nd title in school history...the only other one came in 2007. logjam for 2nd. class 1a. alburnett and lisbon are running away with it. i-35 looking for a top 10 finish. earlier this week we brought you the story of indianola wrestler kobey pritchard who lost his leg because of cancer at the age of 6. kobey battled the odds and is now one of the best wrestlers in the state. pritchard advanced to the semifinals at 106 pounds in class 3a before losing to valley's nick oldham. this
