mcneeley. mcneeley was stabbed to death in her home in the 1400 block of pioneer road at 4:30 a.m. on january 24th. today, police say blood found at the scene matches yahia's d-n-a. yahia was shot and killed by urbandale police officers earlier this month... after they were called to the merle hay holiday inn on a drug complaint. after entering the lobby, officers confronted three people and a scuffle began with yahia who opened fire. officers returned fire and yahia was hit and died at the scene. des moines police say yahia had a lengthy criminal history and was particularly dangerous. 9:04:59 'you know when we think about the reason we get into the business and putting bad guys in prison... this is the guy were thinking about. this guy was a known violent offender... no empathy for anyone else i believe he had no conscience and his actions very clearly demonstrate that he was very violent.' officials believe yahia is also

cases based on evidence. jury selection is currently underway in a boone murder trial. after being postponed five times, alexander fazzino is standing trial...facing a first degree murder charge. jury selection started at nine this morning in decorah. he's accused of killing his wife, emily in the couple's home in january 2012. authorities found emily's body in the bathroom. fazzino's trail has been delayed five times... most recently so he could care for his daughter as she recovered from a bone marrow transplant. a man is charged following an south-east side of des moines... just before 2:30 this morning a fight broke out at a party near the quiktrip on south east 14th. the victim came to the store, with a minor stab wound and was later treated at a local hospital. a suspect vehicle... and arrested 22 - year - old daniel cruz. he is now charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

cruz. des moines police have arrested man on fire... moines is now facing charges of attempted murder and willful reports it happened saturday at a home in street. police found a man with burns... he claims it was thornton who lit him on fire. the two were apparently engaged. she is now in custody at the polk county jail. this weekend, there is potential of flooding because of ice jams... several jams were reported overnight along the des moines river basin including near fort dodge and fraser. river rises of 3 to 4 feet have occurred behind these jams and...they can lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. the jams are expected to move south down the des moines racoon river are near flood stage in des moines.

played over the course of nearly seven hours... ...starting at an apartment complex late saturday afternoon.... ...where police say he gunned down a woman in the parking lot. the victim is hospitalized, and expected to survive... ....her neighbors described the horrifying attack. "he was here to kill."more than four hours later, another attack - a father and his teenage son shot and killed at a car dealership. just minutes after that, police say dalton opened fire on five people in a restaurant parking lot, killing four and injuring another. he was finally arrested just after 12:30 am sunday morning. a passenger who rode with dalton before the rampage described troubling behavior. "we got maybe a mile from my house, got a telephone call, after that call he started driving erratically. we were kind of driving through medians, driving through the lawn. once he came to a stop i jumped out of the car and ran away."perhaps even more bizarre, a source with knowledge of the investigation says dalton picked up and dropped off passengers

think he was looking for even more fares after the final attack. i'm reid binion, reporting. uber confirmed to cnn that dalton, 45, was an uber driver and said he had passed a background check. they also issued a statement extending condolences to victims and families and offering to help with the investigation. spring is just around the corner... and for people planting a garden...one ingredient may be tough to find. bees... it doesn't seem like a traditional garden item, but bees are pivotal to the growth of a healthy garden. the polk county conservation estimates in the last 10 years, the total bee population has dropped 75-percent. local organizations like cherry glen learning farm in polk city are hoping to help bees fight back with beekeeping classes. these classes cover how the bees are dying and what you can do to help. dying and what you can do to help. "you have this rich history of pioneer being here. two, you have a solid brand. three, you are connected to your

have this incredible research talent and when you combine that with the assets that you have at iowa state say iowa state university was critical to this decision as well." the city council of johnston took action later on friday to support the actions of the iowa economic development authority in to the proposed merger of dowdupont for a total of one million matching dollars. that's not exactly new dollars.. it's a extension of the tax increment financing agreements with dupont-pioneer.. which has been in the johnston community for 90 years.. the incentive is for two hundred primarily for research. "without those research and have all of the other jobs that pioneer has that support the research and development so the investments that we're making in the 500 jobs really means an investment in 2600 jobs and probably more jobs than that in the future." the incentive money is based on the deal moving forward.. no
