and how the frontrunner is responding back.. plus... homicide arrest... a des moines man is charged with two murders three months after the crime. why police had to wait to make the arrest. the news at noon... starts now. news at noon front door open good afternoon , thanks for joining us. i'm megan reuther. a des moines man is now charged with killing his wife and daughter, three months after the crime. 47 year old barney fraaken is charged with two counts of first degree murder. he's accused of killing his wife amy and his 16 year old daughter amber back in 2015. police say fraaken shot his wife and daughter on november 22nd. both bodies were found in the family's home in the 42-hundred block of hull avenue. police say fraaken then shot himself. he had been in the hospital

charges. police say the murders were related to a domestic conflict. the trial for a boone man accused of murdering his wife continues today. alexander fazzino is accused of killing is wife--emily-- in their boone home back in 2012. most of the testimony yesterday focused around the night of emily's death. pictures taken of emily at the hospital showed she had some bruising around her neck. yesterday the family's nanny took the stand. she said the relationship between alex and emily was rocky at times. sot: 30 "i asked emily two questions. the first one was, was she scared of alex. what was her response? she said yes. after she said yes, i asked her if she was worried that alex would harm her in anyway or he would kill her, if emily thought that he would harm her or kill her. what was emily's response? she nodded her head yes." the defense is trying to show

the white house is reportedly considering republican governor brian sandoval of nevada for the supreme court seat... once held by the late antonin scalia. sandoval served as a district court judge before running for governor. he was nominated by president george w. bush and unanimously confirmed by the senate. iowa lawmakers discussed the invasion of privacy, or better known as peeping tom laws at the capitol. supporters say the proposed bill is a step in the right direction toward harsher punishment for "peeping toms" 'i defiantly think this bill is going to help future victims by clarifying it.' the current law requires the state to prove the victim was nude or the peeper was aroused by spying on the victim. yesterday the senate voted unanimously to remove that criteria and increase the penalty to a serious misdemeanor.

ames parents are speaking against the new starting school date. 'as far as my children are concerned they would rather have their finals before break. then they get a proper break.' for years ames schools were finals after winter break to align schedules with iowa state university... but just when they found a way students a true holiday break without studying, governor branstad signed a bill requiring classes begin no earlier than august 23rd. the move was to allow rural students to participate in the iowa state fair... but it left ames schools with no choice but to go back to testing after winter break. teachers and parents say it isn't fair to their students. in des moines, people are talking about gender neutral bathrooms at one school. roosevelt high school is the first in the district to offer the bathrooms. students came up with the idea back in november. and started a petition

it got 160 signatures in less than a hour. diversity week at dmacc is bringing noted speakers to campus... channel 13's ben oldach reports on a speaker with a scarred past who's scars are now healing. it's a tale of hate and healing....of racism and revival....of supremacy and self reflection. "and as he's beating on me he's telling me 'your mother don't love you' the story of frank meeink starts in an abusive south philadelphia household... the product of an alcoholic mother and a step-father who beat him... he used to love saying that bleep to me 'your mom don't love you' cause...you know" frank joined the skin heads after spending the summer with his cousin who was a neo-nazi "every guy took turns shaving my head, i'm in...i'm in..." he rose through the ranks to lead his own gang. his experience with american airlines didnt get any better. when he finally reached the gate... about three hours later. the response from the gate attendant - american did eventually provide clothes. they also offered a 200-dollar voucher... for another flight on american airlines. by protocols... mike means protocols for cleaning planes and dealing with bio-hazardous waste. remember, hes a medical rep... who deals with bio- hazards... like urine... blood and other bodily fluids... on a weekly basis. american airlines refused to give mike its protocols for dealing with bio-

when we contacted the airline... a spokesperson told us: 'our aircraft cleaners are trained to look for visible items like trash left on the seats, floor and seatback pockets. we regret that the cleaners did not detect that this particular seat was wet. if our customer service agents or flight crew had been notified before the flight, we would have removed the affected seat cushion and replaced it with a new, clean one.' mike knows what hell do in the future... sh channel 13 news. american airlines says its policy for handling bio-hazardous waste is part of the flight attendants manual, which is not a public document. after we contacted american... the airline increased feinbergs compensation to 1000-dollars... returned his 10-

good afternoon.. geiger. a massive trade deal now has the support of the american farm bureau federation.. in an analysis released this week.. a-f-b-f claim ratifying the trans-pacific partnership will boost farm income by nearly four and a half billion dollars.. adding not approving the trade deal could be harmful as well.. the 11 other member-countries could make agreements with each other.. "had we not performed this agreement, you would see other nations with bilateral agreements that would have circumvented our abilities to enter into this marketplace countries like china. so we pre-empt china with this agreement. this agreement sets the stage for other countries to join. and one of the

benefited by this is iowa." in iowa hill says t-p-p would boost exports by three hundred 89 million dollars.. largely in pork but also other proteins.. the farm bureau predicts price increases in the protein sector by two-dollars and 66 cents a hundredweight for beef.. two 45 for pork.. and a dollar 40 for poultry.. trade is also expected to increase.. hill says there will be six hundred 32 million dollars of additional farm receipts in iowa. and while the grain market won't be impacted as strongly.. iowa could still benefit. "what we will do is we will take the grain and we will feed it to livestock here in iowa. furthering added value to that. creating jobs here in iowa and then exporting the meat as a cellophane or a package product." hill says the number of new jobs in iowa is expected to be two thousand

"well we've got the usda outlook forum going on in d.c. it was widely advertised to be bearish where they were going to put out what had to be pretty conservative numbers for next year." "that's pretty much what we're getting, but the market's drifting down into month end and reflecting those bearish forecasts for 2016 production and kind of trying to price that in a little bit." "we'll it's been pretty impressive actually, the cattle have broken out of some of their chart resistance here. they're still a little expensive versus pork. but as you know, the hog market's been rallying. we're limited in what we can do because the overall cold storage stocks were pretty large. for the moment we're getting a rise in the wholesale price." "we've got a little hole in the marketing in march. little lower ready numbers. so this is really impressive to see this kind of a price rally coming into that peak slaughter for the spring runs. but again, the exports are bleeding part of it off and that's helping to prop up the prices. a weaker dollar sporadically over the
