>>i'm checking my watch, peter. it seems to me we're running out of time, aren't we? >yes, we are. if you want to be a part of the pbs family, you'd better get to it, right? >>this is it. i think there are just a few more moments now. and i have no idea if we've been effective in reminding people how important this station has been, and is now and will be in the future to you. if we want to leave you with anything, it is we would like you to remember how important this station is, how important it has been for your whole family, for your whole lifetime. >i know my family would be lost without pbs, really. not only my immediate family, but my children and my grandchildren- they love pbs. >>you know, we were talking about that before, that perhaps there is a little bit of a disconnect now with the younger generation, wonderful generation and great kids, but they don't have perhaps as much of a reach back as we did. a memory, a memory that goes back 30 years, 40 years. this is the gift that a program like this
