three years probation. the man accused of driving drunk and causing the crash that killed a caledonia father and his nine-year-old daughter is heading to trial. levi ruohonen plead not guilty to homicide charges, but then waived his right to a preliminary hearing. police say ruohonen had been at a strip bar drinking with friends the day after thanksgiving, when he hit kevin dalley and his daughter emily. they both died at the scene. patrick: president-elect trump has picked retired marine general john kelly as the next secretary of homeland security. not milwaukee county sheriff david clarke. keis general. the 66-year-old led the united states southern command and led troops in combat in iraq. kelly is the second retired four-star general to be selected for trump's cabinet. we reached out to sheriff clarke about the pic. he gave us this statement. it says in part, "i have always intended to fill out my term. i will do what president-elect trump asks of me. all that ever mattered was to help trump become the 45th president of the united states. mission accomplished."

deadline for wisconsin's historic presidential recount. the election commission says the state is 70% done re-counting the million votes cast in 2.9 november. the recount, requested by the green party, must be completed by monday. nearly 200 parishioners are without a place to worship tonight. fire destroyed the all saints fellowship christian church at 12th and brown in milwaukee overnight. wisn 12 news hillary mintz shows us the damage and how the pastor is moving forward with faith. >> burst from the top of the all saints fellowship christian church. fire fighters use a saw and axes to cut through the roof and put out the blaze. >> it was a surreal situation. >> meanwhile, the pastor odell johnson, sees his church damage on the news and rushes over to the building. >> what i immediately saw was our hard work appeared to be

church last night around 7:30 p.m.. the choir was still rehearsing, but he says thankfully no one was around when the fire started. the fire department says the flames may have started in this upper corner near the roof, where the damage is severe. now in trying times, this pastor says he along with his congregation of nearly 200 will more than ever rely on their faith. >> maybe this is god's way of giving us a fresh start we will just take it from there. >> johnson says they're using facebook and social media to update parishioners, where already many leaving messages of prayers and hope. in milwaukee, hillary mintz, wisn 12 news. patrick: the fire department estimates the damage to be more than a half million dollars. fire investigators in oakland, california are trying to zero in on a cause to last friday's warehouse fire that killed 36 people. it's believed an electrical device, most likely a refrigerator, sparked the fire during the late-night dance

the warehouse reported the fridge had been shorting out and blowing fuses. no official cause has been determined. toya: two teenagers are facing arson charges in the devastating fires in tennessee. 14 people have died. the fires have been burning for weeks, fueled by the worst drought in nearly a decade. today, residents are being allowed to return to their homes. thousands of buildings and structures have been damaged or destroyed. patrick: if you visit the milwaukee county zoo, you'll like this. the zoo will not be raising fees in the coming year. based on an econom i study by u.w. milwaukee, the zoo is estimated to have a $155 million impact on milwaukee, ozaukee, washington, and waukesha counties. the zoo says that total number represents money entering the local economy in 2016 from the estimated 600,000 visitors from outside the milwaukee area. >> we are surrounded by major construction projects with the zoo interchange, and we don't

a long time with highs above freezing, 278 days in a row. i'll records go back to 1871. two stories, the cold and the potential snow. oh, yeah, this is something we will be concentrating on. let's start with a cold. no doubt it is here already. louisville, 40, so the cooler continues to sweep down to the south as well. does four, two degrees and glasgow. here's something i want you to keep in mind. if you think it is bad now, next week looks worse. i need everyone to be ready to settle in for that long winter, because it will be here for a while, and the wind chills will get worse. we are 13 in milwaukee, 19 below in bismarck, so the colder air continues to move in and next week as well.

the next storm. it is moving in northern california right now, beneficial rain and snow here will eventually make its way across the rockies, and we will be talking about the potential for snow around here. this is saturday night into sunday could we are ok tomorrow and friday and the majority of the day on saturday. here is what we know about the storm right now. the accumulating snow is likely, travel than last sunday. it will be colder. i'm not putting a number on this. a lot of you want to know how much. it is wednesday, and it will be happening saturday night into sunday, so too much can change. storm track will likely still change. the timing is still not set. i think we will see accumulating snow as we head into saturday

toya: if you been to watch netflix then take a break. ,-- binge-watch neflix, then take a break. that's what the entertainment company found after analyzing the viewing habits of more than 86 million members. it found that 59% of viewers stopped watching netflix for three days before starting a new series. they also found something else intein binge-watched the show narcos, about drug-lord pablo escobar, were likely to also stream pulp fiction. after gilmore girls, viewers watched throwbacks like "sixteen candles" or "dirty dancing.' which one did you watch? patrick: none of the above. toya: they've been a hot item for the past few holidays, drones. patrick: but there are some things to keep in mind before giving the gift of flight. as the faa continues to sharpen its rules on drone activity, local vendors like scott fischer wants to remind his customers to know what kind of drone they're
