this is what you can expect, windchills around the zero. that is it here at how long this cold sticks around, and then snow, coming up in weatherwatch 12. patrick: breaking news, police are evacuating a tourist area in miami because of a bomb threat. this is on ocean drive, which runs along the beach, and is full of restaurants and stores. police say they are acting out of an abundance of caution. the street is closed and officers are getting people out of the area. k-9 units are on the scene. we'll let you know if anything is found during this newscast. milwaukee county sheriff's deputy is calling people, demanding money for missing jury duty. joyce: as christina palladino reports, at least nine people have been targeted, one of them is out $1000. >> i received a call -- >> garrett roach says he was nearly convinced a man impersonating a milwaukee county sheriff's deputy on the phone earlier this week needed money from him. >> it sounded like a police

phones in the background, people talking in the background. >> roach tells me the man pretended to be an actual deputy with a corresponding badge number. he said roach had missed jury duty and owed money. at least eight other people have received this phone call. some of the victims were told to come down to the courthouse here after hours and pay their fine. roach went down to the courthouse explaining the phone , call. he was put in touch with the real deputy from the sheriff's office. >> as soon as i got onto the phone, i realized this was not the gentleman i spoke to the day before and he assured me that he , was the actual, real deputy griffin. >> we called the number and a voicemail says it's the county services and warrants division. john barrett, the milwaukee county clerk of circuit court, reminds people his office only contacts people through mail or email for jury duty. >> in the clerk of courts office we would never ask the sheriff , to contact you to come down here. >> in milwaukee, christina

one of the victims did do as the scammer asked, got a pre-paid credit card and gave the number to the scammer over the phone. that victim lost $1000. the sheriff's office also says it does not call people regarding jury duty, or call on the phone to threaten arrest if you don't pay a fine. patrick: tonight, remembering a seven-year-old boy his death , ruled a homicide. two women are charged. a few dozen people led by a group called guardians of the children held a vigil near 19th and national, where trevion winningham lived. everyone lit candles and said prayers in honor of the boy. complaint, his body was marked with significant signs of trauma. even though some people attending the vigil never met him they say he deserves to have , a voice. >> it is just a tragedy to have to do this because now this child doesn't get to live the rest of his life and have all the experience the rest of us had. patrick: winningham's nine-year-old brother also suffered from severe child abuse. he remains at a local hospital.

confirms an arrest has been made after the department was threatened. earlier this week, the milwaukee county district attorney decided not to charge a police officer in the fatal shooting of jay anderson, junior. a department spokesman says they've received several threats of violence, mostly phoned in. the one person arrested so far will be referred for charges tomorrow. joyce: some students at uw-milwaukee plan to protest a speech next week by a member of the alt-right. >> if you didn't should strap yourself in, because there is a lot more coming. joyce: this is milo yiannopoulos, a british editor for breitbart.com. earlier this year, he got permanently banned from twitter for targeting snl actress leslie jones. several campus groups invited him to talk at uwm next tuesday. that prompted some students to drop off petitions today, calling on campus leaders to denounce him. >> the only kind of free speech he supports is the freedom to shut down other people's speech,

joyce: uwm's chancellor has yet to comment to 12 news. patrick: president elect trump added to his cabinet today choosing john kelly to lead the , department of homeland security. kelly is a retired four-star marine general, who served three tours in iraq. the 66-year-old also led the united states' southern command. some speculated that milwaukee county sheriff david clarke might fill that post. the sheriff responded with this statement today, "president-elect trump gets to decide who he wants to fill these positions. i like his decision on general kelly as i do all the others ' trump's election was all that was important to me. i have always intended to fill out my term. i will do what president elect trump asks of me. all that ever mattered was to help trump become the 45th president of the united states. mission accomplished." joyce: we're following breaking news, a federal judge has ended michigan's presidential recount, sealing the victory there for donald trump. meanwhile, wisconsin's recount is in its seventh day. while volunteers and observers

patrick: new tonight, a chase on the tarmac at san francisco international airport. a man appearing to be under the influence at the ticket counter led officers on a foot chase. he scaled a fence onto the tarmac. he was chased by officers on foot and in their squads. he was eventually taken into custody. a former teacher in new berlin is sentenced for having sex with a student. joyce: the judge sentenced 29-year-old sara domres to two years in prison, three years extended supervision, and three years probation. she had sex with the 16-year-old they also exchanged a thousand text messages, including one in which she called the student "baby boo." domres told the judge before sentencing she's no predator. >> i will now be labeled as a registered sex offender when i truly feel i am the furthest thing from one. joyce: her sister and mother-in-law both asked the court for leniency.

a statement. a test of faith for a milwaukee church. the all saints fellowship christian church at 12th and brown burned early this morning. pastor odell johnson learned about the fire when he saw it on the morning news. he rushed to the building to see the damage. now he, and nearly 200 parishioners, are leaning on their faith to take the next step. >> we are praying right now, seeing what do we do from here, how do we move forward, and maybe this is god' us a fresh start. joyce: johnson is keeping the congregation updated on facebook and social media. patrick: investigators say many of the people killed in an oakland warehouse fire never had a chance. they say people on the second floor did not know there was a fire on the first floor until the fire was well underway. the smoke went up the stairwells to the second floor, killing 36 people. fire officials say a refrigerator might have started the fire, but they're not certain. in tennessee, two teenagers are accused of starting the fatal

mountains national park. those fires killed 14 people and wiped out entire neighborhoods. the two are charged with aggravated arson. officials cannot release the suspects' ages. they say they could face additional charges, including being transferred to adult court. a manhunt is underway right now for the gunman who killed one police officer and critically injured another in georgia. it happened as the officers responded to a domestic violence call. a $30,00wa offered for information leading to an arrest. joyce: a dramatic scene today outside a high school library in reno, nevada. a student, swinging a large knife, is shot by a school resource officer. the 16-year-old was taken to a hospital in critical condition. the incident may have started as a fight between two students. no other students were injured. new tonight, the home of a student who brought mercury to a green bay school is now condemned. a person who lives with the student says hazardous materials crews found high levels of mercury in the home.

all cleaned up. the school was also closed today while teams finished the cleanup there. classes are expected to resume tomorrow. green bay's embattled mayor got into a testy exchange with one of his harshest critics. an alderman called on mayor jim schmitt to resign after being sentenced for violating campaign finance laws. schmitt didn't resign. he and alderman guy zima got into it after the meeting. >> you love this stuff. >> could you possibly do any business? >> i didn't steal anything. >> didn't you steal some hot dogs? huh? >> yeah, i didn't steal anything. >> you know what? i made a mistake. you stole stuff. joyce: schmitt was referring to zima's arrest for shoplifting meat from a grocery store in 1980. schmitt was recently sentenced to 40 hours of community service

now in california, making its way into nevada. this is what we will be talking about for saturday night into sunday, a couple of flurries, no worries again for any kind of accumulation tonight, just cloud cover. this low pressure center will move close to milwaukee. there are still questions on where this thing will end up. everybody wants to know, how much are we going to get? i think we will snow and travel will be impacted. it will be colder than last sunday when the road salt worked very well. i think we will have more snow in some areas, and some colder roads, so be prepared for that, but i am not putting out numbers yet. that may happen tomorrow when we get more consensus going on. three days out, too much can change. we will wait until we have a better idea of the storm track.
