and nothing like my punch-drunk kiss i know you need it, do you feel it drink the water, drink the wine oh we gotta turn up the crazy livin' like a washed-up celebrity shooting fireworks like it's the fourth of july new years eve is a night for celebration in tiger town. clemson is headed for the national championship game. the tigers dominated in the second half of the orange bowl in miami and beat oklahoma by a final of 37 to 17. we'll have much more highlights and analysis of the game coming up in a few minutes... but first to a developing story tonight-- a midlands lake is breaking records -- but not in a good way.

eye ononake wateree and the wateree river as the flood warning for that area continues. our chad mill is live in camden with the latest. here at the county administration building, officials are urging people to stay safe, especially around the affected areas and right now, there's still a lot of areas underwater that normally wouldn't be. it's a lot more water than tucker smith is used to. tucker smith "i mean, if you go over there to our dock, i mean, you can't even walk over there without waders on. it'll come up to your chest and shoulders." right now, his kerhsaw county home on lake wateree is an island. tucker smith "we still got probably a foot and a half or two feet before it comes in the house." thursday afternoon, as the lake level rose inch by inch, he got prepared... tucker smith "you know, i know in talking to my dad and my uncle up here, you know, i made sure all the low outlets were cut off at the

ready if water came in the house to get all the electrical stuff off the floor if we could get it. / we've got lots of water in case the power goes out. flashlights. things like that." duke energy says the lake is as high as it has been since 1989, when runoff from rain produced by hurricane hugo pushed the lake level to just shy of 107 feet. dir. gene faulkenberry "we've had crews out most of the day putting signs out and warning. we've had social media." gene faulkenberry, kershaw county's department of safety and emergency services ddector, is hoping the worst is over. but right now, water continues to spill over the dam a similar sight back in 1989 after hugo. dir. gene faulkenberry "looking at the radars and, hopefully, with the rain diminishing after today, we will start to see the river and the lake start to recede in the next several days maybe into next week. that'll be a big help if we can get some sunshine, and it'll dry some of this out." as emergency officials keep a watchful eye on the lake and river... tucker smith "we're going to try and stick it out for the night.

accusations of hit and run. carpenter was arrested for an incdent on december 8th in which police say carprpter hit a man walking at assembly and blossom street, then left the scene. tonight, carpenter's lawyer released a statement saying the accident was "routine" and that carpenter didn't think the man was hurt. according to columbia police, carpenter pulled over and turned on his hazard lights, but didn't get out of his vehicle or give help. the pedestrian was treated for injuries to his leg. carpenter received the medal of honor in june 2014 for his actions to save marines from an explosion in afghanistan. clemson fans have themselves a nice new years eve present the tigers are headed to the national championship game with an undefeated record. tonight in the orange bowl, they showed they were clearly dominating. sports director rick henry is

14 down and one to go. the top ranked clemson tigers are 14 and oh after a very impressive win over the oklahoma sooners. now the tigers advance to the national championship game. if they become the first fbs team to win 15 games...they'll also capture their 2nd national title. the tigers didn't play a perfect game tonight...but they were much better than all that matters.
