12:30 am
[indistinct chatter] jarred, come with me. angela, kyle, how are you? kyle: hey, how's it going, antonio? antonio: very well, thank you. how are you? yeah. angela: hi, jarred. nice to meet you. jarred: nice to meet you. antonio: they're associated with nari. angela: nari is the national association of remodelers. it's called the national association of the remodeling industry. and all of the contractors that are here today are nari members. jarred: i'm so grateful. this is an awesome experience, and i'm glad that you guys are a part of it and everyone that is here. antonio: all right. thank you very much.
12:31 am
jarred: thank you. susan: you have to paint the riser all the way across. >> i thought you said the runner-- susan: well, we're only doing on the treads. >> just on the treads. ok, kenny, just... susan: keep going. keep going. [indistinct chatter] antonio: susan, what do we have here? susan: we're taking some of their furniture and repurposing it... antonio: what are we doing here? susan: this is--their coffee table that they had from a yard sale. so i took that, and i came up with this really groovy piece of fabric. groovy zebra pattern. josh and jarred kind of like that, and we're gonna have this groovy pattern. antonio: now, susan, you like to repurpose things and... susan: i love to do--i mean, that makes it easy, fun. it makes it personal. antonio: it's a whole new table. susan: it's gonna be a fabulous table. antonio: i can't wait to see it when it's ready, and then josh and jarred, they'll be very, very happy this is happening.
12:32 am
susan: all right, see you. antonio: mayhem going on here. this basement does not look like it did this morning. what is going on on this side of the basement? mason: got my crew back here starting to put in some really cool finishes. we're gonna have a circular bar here. we've got sort of a jigsaw puzzle of ceiling going in. antonio: all the electrical-- you're placing new lights. mason: roughed in the electrical. there will be some great new lighting, both pendant lighting and recessed lighting and some other accent lighting. we've got the center for vintage gaming on another wall. we got the disco in the back. there's all kinds of things going... susan: josh, jarred, come on over. got a fun d.i.y. for you. [laughs] so this is going to be part of your bar, so yay for the bar. jarred: yay for our bar. susan: so what i've done is taken a plain piece of glass that's gonna go in one of the upper cabinets, and we've already taped it off, and what
12:33 am
"the bar is open." josh: nice. susan: and then we're gonna use this frost technique so it'll look like it's frosted glass, and it'll have a light so you can, like, flip it on, and the bar's open. ha ha. so what you do is we're just gonna lay this out. i'll let you guys kind of lay it out. you peel them off and just kind of stick it right on-- right on the lines and do the "open" across there. try to get them as even as possible. so, how's it going so far? josh: good. this is... jarred: incredible experience. susan: are you stressed out? are you scared? are you nervous? jarred: no. excited. josh: trust y'all completely. this is awesome. susan: so how long have you guys been here? josh: uh, 3 years. susan: 3 years. josh: just celebrated a--the third year in the house in-- a few months ago. susan: all right, do we got this on? now i'm gonna get--we're gonna shake this real good, and then i'm just gonna get you to spray over the whole thing, and then we're gonna let it dry, and we'll be ready to put it into your new bar. this is
12:34 am
piece of glass. it doesn't look like anything on there, but as it dries, it's going to showcase this frosted technique. see it sort of coming up on the glass? josh: awesome. susan: all right, well, that's the d.i.y. i'll let it dry, and then i'll peel off the letters for you. we'll send you on your way, and then i'll do the big reveal. both: awesome. susan: thanks, gang. bye. we've got the furniture here from ladiff right now. it's being delivered for the basement. it's going to be great.
12:35 am
>> oh, yeah. antonio: hey, mason. mason: hey, antonio. antonio: wow, look at all-- i don't know where to look first, right? mason: there's a lot of stuff going on. antonio: are you gonna serve me a drink? mason: the bar will be open very shortly. antonio: this looks fantastic. mason: i am really excited about it, and you're gonna help us bring the bar top.
12:36 am
mason: it is dekton. antonio: i love that type of stone, so let's go get it and bring it inside and place it right here. >> right down flush. antonio: this is the new bar made out of dekton. the color's called serious. i love it. we just got to put an additional piece, and it's ready. >> all right. [indistinct chatter] antonio: a disco ball. we got the stage. this is the dance area. i told you it was gonna be the coolest basement and it is. this is the stage right here. they can do their karaoke.

i've got a receiver here for surround sound. got a basic surround-sound system, but the idea here was having it incredibly easy to operate. we're using control4, which is a remote system here that's going to allow them to use their iphone. this is josh's iphone. antonio: how cool is that? tim: it's very, very cool. antonio: this is all surround. i see some speakers that we installed, right? tim: correct. it's around the in-ceilings back here from true audio. of course, the small bookshelf monitors here-- true audio center channel. samsung plasma. they're all set to go. antonio: this is really awesome. they're gonna love it. tim: they're gonna love it. absolutely. antonio: thanks, tim. i love it. susan: ok, gang. bring that column in here. it's got to go right here. it's got to cover the old wall. this is where the old wall was. we're using this as our storage cabinet for all of their video games. it'll fit just between--yeah, perfect-- antonio: is this the shelves to put more dvds and whatnot? susan: you know how many video games they have. antonio: they have a lot. susan: yeah, so we're adding more shelves on both sides. it's open. and then it creates a nice little walkway here
12:42 am
room. little shelves, adjustable shelves, and we're ready to roll. antonio: ok. i love it. thanks, susan. susan, mason--uh, mason, are we done with construction? mason: essentially we're ready to start bringing in furniture. antonio: that means we can start staging. susan: i'm ready. antonio: what do we have coming down here? susan: sofa, game table, bar chairs, chairs, rugs, tons of things. antonio: let's go get it. susan: ok. antonio: very cool rug. susan: yeah. now we've got 2 rugs. we really covered up the tile. look at this shag. antonio: i love it. susan: groovy. antonio: got the bar stools. susan: all right, well, this is the piece de la resistance of the basement. we have done this because jarred and josh love vintage arcade games, so we've created this fabulous
