we now have the name of the person that died in a fire friday in columbia. johnnie mae newton died from carbon monoxide poison after a home on 1100 block of quiet lane off of decker boulevard went up in flames. still no word on how the fire was started. a 23-year-old man was killed in a shooting in downtown columbia friday night. the coroner says rodney francis, the second died early saturday morning. police are now looking for this black and gray chevy avalanche. officers say shots were fired from this suv as francis was leaving club rue 77. that's at the intersection of assembly and lady streets. officers say the victim was found unresponsive on the ground around 3 o'clock this morning. police say the shooting may have resulted from a fight between two groups. if you have seen the suv or have any information to help investigators, call crime stoppers at 1- 888-crime-sc. thousands were in downtown columbia

making a difference in the fight against breast cancer. this was the 25th year of walk for life/rara for life. more than seven thousand runners and walkers took off from finlay park. our own judi gatson helped kick off the morning, as the emcee. the walk/run is about raising money but also about honoring breast cancer survivors.
