leading deputies on a chase in northeast richland county sheriff's say they responded to a call about an aggravated assault at camrose court just after 11 saturday. when deputies arrived they say akeem breeland fired several shots at them, hitting a patrol vehicle. breeland then ran into the woods, but was quickly caught by police. breeland is charged with attempted murder, unlawful carry of a handgun, and unlawful use of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime. deputies are also investigating a shooting that happened early this morning in richland county. at a party on foxhunt road around 12:30, when they were approached by several people. one of the suspect fired multiple rounds at both victims. deputies say the two teenager were shot multiple times in the lower body. they were taken to the hospital for treatment. if you know anything about this shooting, call

in a developing story, a coastal carolina university student was found dead in his dorm room yesterday morning. the student has been identified as brandon scott, a junior arts major from the north charleston area. sled has been investigating the scene, and an autopsy will be performed later today to determine the cause of death. the deputy coroner says he does not suspect foul play the mother of a six year old girl, killed in a crash last weekend, has been charged. 29-year-old tiffany brown is facing several charges including felony dui resulting in death and child endangerment. troopers say brown was under the influence when she caused a crash that killed her young daughter and injured two other people. according to the 'times and democrat,' two of brown's other children were in the car at the time. brown bonded out of jail and is now able to attend her daughter's funeral next week.
