the carolina panthers are super bowl bound after dominating the arizona cardinals last night in the nfc championship in charlotte. carolina was the first on the board with an early field goal, and from there the team kept up with their slogan-- keep pounding! the panthers scored 6 touchdowns during the game. quarterback cam newton threw for two and ran for two. wide receiver ted ginn junior rushed for a touchdown of his own. and -- star linebacker luke keuckley returned an

the panthers won by a final score of 49 to 15. after the game -- the players talked about keeping the win in perspective. "we came out and had a pretty successful game. but like i said, there's a lot of people that feels just teammates, but happy for the carolinas." the panthers are the first team with a 15-and-o-o regular season record to play in the super bowl since 1985. that year, the chicago bears went 15-and-one and one of the players on that team was panthers head coach ron rivera. chicago went on to beat the new england patriots in that super bowl by a score of 46-10. fans in charlotte are showing their panthers pride today and some are making sure they have the freshest, newest gear. raycom news network's ashton pellom spent the morning at a dick's sporting goods where the n-f-c championship gear is flying off the shelves.

robbery off fort jackson boulevard. columbia police responded to shots fired at the 'next up barber and beauty shop' friday night. witnesses say two armed suspects wearing masks came in demanding money. people in the barbershop fired at the suspects - killing one. investigators are looking for the other suspect. call crimestoppers at 1-888-crime-sc if you can help. that's also the number to call to help investigators in a shooting that hurt two teenagers early sunday morning. it happened at a party on foxhunt road in northeast columbia. investigators say the victims were shot multiple times after being approached by several people. we're told the two teens are o-k. two men wanted for an armed robbery in lexington county are also wanted for fraud. lexington county deputies say two men stole checks from the la gaviota grocery on augusta

investigators say one of the suspects tried to cash the check at businesses in greenville, kershaw and saluda counties using fake ids. he has been seen in a newer honda accord or an old white work van. call crimestoppers if you can help. this afternoon, richland county leaders will talk about the recent audit and proposed council changes to the richland penny transportation tax program. county council leaders who are part of the transportation penny advisory committee will take a look at parts of a plan proposed by councilman seth rose. last week the transportation ad hoc committee discussed rose's plan involving more transparency for the penny tax, but some of those motions were sent to the study. the meeting is set for 5:30. people in the midlands who need help filing their taxes can take advantage of free income tax preparation. the cooperative ministry's volunteer income tax assistance started today. irs-certified volunteers will provide income tax return information and help with electronic filing. the tax help is for families who

york are still cleaning up after the storm this past weekend. nasa captured this unique view of the aftermath of the storm. this is a view of all the snow across the eastern part of the u-s after the storm. the hardest hit areas from this storm near washington, d-c and throughout maryland are still digging out. today many schools and government offices are still closed. nbc's edward lawrence has more from the nation's capital. i'm calling this the big dig because many people in the suborders of maryland and dc all the way up to new york are digging out. you can see in the us capital 30 inches on the road because plows can't get to it. still emergency equipment has to get to it so in some cases they are 30 people have died because of this storm, many in traffic accidents other folks were killed when they
