announced his support for rubio. the endorsement could be key as the candidates start focusing more attention on the palmetto state. this week, former president bill clinton is back on the campaign trail in the palmetto state to stump for his wife, hillary. clinton will speak at a rally at the john hurst gymnatorium at allen university tomorrow night. doors open at 4:30. the event starts at 6. and their daughter, chelsea clinton, will make her first campaign swing through the palmetto state on saturday. clinton will attend women for hillary events in rock hill and spartanburg. she will then address a women's leadership program at clemson university. ahead of the "first in the south" primary-- presidential candidates from both parties have been invited to weigh-in on issues of faith. the conservative leadership project says the 2016 "faith and family presidential forum" will be held on february 12th at bob jones university in greenville. the forum will be moderated by attorney general alan wilson and oran smith of the palmetto family council.

iowa caucuses and the shift in focus now to new hampshire and south carolina on our website. just look for the decision 2016 box on the homepage of wistv-dot- com. comedian bill cobsy is back in a pennsylvania courtroom today. his attorneys are working to get sexual assault charges against him thrown out. nbc's chris pollone explains why. :27 1:10 1:23 entertainment icon bill cosby. in court in a philadelphia suburb. facing sexual assault charges which could put him in prison for a decade. tuesday's hearing: a pivotal moment in the case against the 78- year old. all eyes are on former montgomery county district attorney bruce castor. he told prosecutors last year he made a promise to cosby a decade ago. he would not prosecute, if cosby testified in a civil lawsuit. cosby did, and settled that lawsuit in 2006. sound bruce castor /former montgomery county d.a. :27-:35 "i remember thinking that he probably did do

but thinking that and being able to prove it are two different things." the current district attorney says there's no evidence such an agreement ever existed. cosby is charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault stemming from a 2004 encounter with former temple university basketball employee, andrea constand. constand contends in early 2004 cosby drugged her and sexually assaulted her. cosby says the contact was consensual. montgomery county's newly elected district attorney, kevin steele decided to file charges last year after a judge unsealed transcripts of cosby's deposition in that civil suit. in the deposition, among other sound bill brennan - attorney, legal analyst 1:10-1:19 "it doesn't get any better than having the district attorney at the time say i made this deal and it should be honored. that's as a powerful as it gets" now a judge will decide if cosby's own words can be used against him. more than 50 women have accused cosby of civil suits against cosby. he has denied all of the accusations and is countersuing some of his accusers. in norristown, pa - chris

columbia police hope to talk to this man....seen on surveillance. they say he's a person- of-interest in a sexual assault case. it happened in the 800 block of barnwell street. police say a woman reported being sexually assaulted at gunpoint by a man there saturday morning. police have not named the man seen on video as a suspect....just a person of interest. call crimestoppers at 1- 888-crime-sc if you can help i-d him. that's also the number to call to help richland county deputies find the person who made off with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a parklane road convenience store. investigators just released surveillance video from the am/pm food mart...where a break-in took place back in december. they say someone shattered the glass front door of the store. once in, the burglar stole 7-thousand dollars worth of liquor, cigarettes, lottery tickets and cash. tonight, friends and family members will gather for a candlelight vigil for a 19-year-old who investigators say was killed by her ex-boyfriend. a vigil for deanndra roach will

vive church on clemson road from 4 to 7 p-m. investigators say roach was shot and killed by andre heatley, jr. sometime thursday night or early friday morning. her body was discovered late friday afternoon. deputies in fairfield county have arrested a man now charged with animal abuse. 48-year-old billy ray huskey is accused of dragging a dog. deputies say it happened back in december on camp welfare road near carolina adventure world. the dog -- known as "emanuel" was taken to a local vet who said the dog appeared to be injured by someone dragging it behind a vets say emanuel had to undergo surgery for his injuries. huskey has been booked into the center. the city of columbia is changing its policy on the use of tasers by police. today, the issue will be the topic of a resolution before the council. the change comes after a fourth circuit court of appeals ruling. the court says police should only use the devices when there are elements of safety and a

"we need a coordinated international response to make sure we get to the bottom of this." in brazil alone, more than 4-thousand babies have been born with the microcephaly. xx xx x xx in racife , nbc's rehema ellis met a new mother and her one day old baby, rehema: "what do you hope for your baby boy?" "i'm waiting.....waiting to see how he develops." for most people, researchers continue to insist the zika virus carries but if a zika-carrying mosquito bites a pregnant mother, the unborn child can be at great risk.

pandemic in the united states. to reiterate -- researchers believe that if you're a woman and you're -not- pregnant when you're bitten by a zika-carrying mosquito, the virus should work its way through your system in 2-weeks and not impact a future pregnancy. in your national news... the f-b-i announced it is joining the investigation into the contamination of flint, michigan's drinking water. the tap water was contaminated with lead after the source switched from detroit to the flint river in 2014. the corrosive river water was not properly treated and caused lead from pipes to seep into the drinking water. the fbi is now part of a federal investigation which also includes the u.s. attorney's office and the e-p-a. this morning, an elderly new york couple escaped their house right before it burst into flames. 79-year-old eugene upshaw crashed his car into the home's gas meter which led to a gas leak. when he heard hissing from the meter he ran in the house to grab his wife, louise. they called 9-1-1 from a neighbor's house - and while they were there, the house

night. uconn would be the number one overall seed, followed by south carolina, notre dame, and baylor. there could be a change at the top next monday, when the gamecocks host the huskies in a 1 versus 2 showdown. police in the netherlands are looking into using birds of prey to swoop down and take rogue drones out of the sky. police are working with a company that trains eagles and other birds to catch drones. officers want to see if the birds can be used above large events or near airports, where the drones are banned. they say the trainers exploit the birds' instincts to tackle the high-tech problem of drones flying in restricted areas. a spokesman added the birds are trained "to think drones are their prey" and get a reward if they catch one. dutch police will likely make a decision later this year whether to use the birds. partly cloudy today and warm, highs lower to middle 70s.
