this is a look at highway 321 near the lexington industrial park....where two vehicles collided just after 3 this morning. 21-year-old derious sutton is charged with felony dui involving death. the highway patrol says sutton was traveling south in the northbound lane when the head-on collision happened. he is scheduled to be in bond court at 3 pm. the name of the person killed has not been released. we're working to learn more about a crash that killed a pedestrian in it happened just after 7:30 last night on highway 45. the highway patrol says the driver of a car hit a person walking in the road. the pedestrian died at the scene. the driver of the car was not hurt. one person is dead and two others seriously injured after a crane collapsed in new york city. it happened around 8:30 in the city's tribeca neighborhood. video from the scene shows the crane upside down and on top of several cars. several nearby buildings were more than 100 firefighters and are at the scene.

it has been one year since a murder-suicide at usc's arnold school of public health. professor raja fayad was killed in a lab on february health. professor raja fayad was killed in a lab on february 5th, 2015. authorities say he was shot by his ex-wife sunghee kwon, who then killed herself. according to the university's website, fayad's research at usc explored colon cancer prevention and development, as well as the structure of crohn's disease. the victim in a shooting in hopkins is listed in critical condition.

responded to a "shots fired" call around 8 last night at jadetree and auburn leaf drive. a male shooting victim was found inside a white honda civic that had the back windshield shattered. if you have information on this shooting -- call crimestoppers at 1-888- crime-sc. a man remains in jail this afternoon in connection to the murder of a midlands motorcyclist. last month, investigators found adrian silva. he had been shot multiple times while riding his motorcycle on long green parkway in columbia. the sheriff's department announced thursday that vincent may has been charged with obstruction of justice in the case. they haven't released exact details on why may was arrested, but say he's been ordered not to have contact with the victim's family. his bond has been set at 25-thousand dollars. the music world is mourning the loss of maurice white. white was the founder of the band earth, wind and fire which has sold more than 90 million albums. the 74 year old died at his los wednesday. white suffered from parkinson's disease and kept out of the public eye even as the band he founded kept performing.

into the rock and roll hall of fame in 2000. bmx rider dave mirra is dead in suicide. his body was found inside a truck in greenville, north carolina. officials say he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. mirra was perhaps best- known for competing in the x-games where he won medals each year from 19-95 to 2008 --- including 14 gold medals. dave mirra was 41. the smoke is clearing from last night's democratic presidential debate. hillary clinton and bernie sanders squared off in the final showdown before the new hampshire primary tuesday. it's a state where sanders has a big lead. nbc's andrea mitchell looks at the highlights. about the issues that divide us! / bernie: let's talk about - let's talk about! clinton and sanders - in their most combative debate yet: sanders: "secretary clinton does represent the establishment...i represent -- i hope --

as well-funded candidates for the nation's most important job work to come up with the most ridiculous policies or campaign ideas in order to receive coverage that the 24-hour news networks have voraciously been willing to give. well, we're not going to be part of that here at wis. in the next few weeks, you will receive in-depth coverage on the presidential campaign that you deserve over the soundbites and hollow comments. it is part of our mission here to be "the standard of excellence in the midlands" that also applies to campaign coverage. we will live up to that standard. back to south carolina with our campaign coverage, we hope to help you make an informed decision for the primaries. the palmetto state will soon shoulder a tremendous responsibility. as an informed electorate, it's up to you to not only take full advantage of your right, but to also set the tone for the rest of the nation. don't be blinded by advertisements, silly platitudes, or empty rhetoric. let's show the nation how it's done.

the colonial life arena is sure to be rocking monday night when uconn comes to town. in their final game before that 1-vs-2 showdown, the gamecocks hosted kentucky in front of a packed crowd at colonial life arena. a scary moment in the first half when star senior guard tiffany mitchell goes down hard, hurting her back. she would not return to the game, but coach dawn staley expects her to be okay. the gamecocks beat the wildcats, 78 to 68. alaina coates scored 27 points in the winning effort.
