joe gorchow wis news 10 sports. our joe gorchow will have highlights from today's game on the news at 11. the richland library helped young panthers fans pre-game for super bowl 50. little fans sported their carolina blue at the library's "let's get ready to rumble" saturday morning. kids were able to make their own panthers' banners to help cheer on the team in today's game. a man is in jail this morning charged with trying to kill an orangeburg county deputy. bond was denied for 23- year-old gino brown. sled agents have charged brown with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. last month, shots were fired at an orangeburg county deputy in santee. it happened at the 'coasters club' on old number six highway. the deputy involved was not hurt and is still on paid administrative leave. one man is in jail -- another is recovering after a shooting saturday afternoon in

richland county deputies responded to a shots fired call on brookmont lane -- just after noon. deputies say a man was shot several times in the lower body. 35-year-old antoine irick has been charged with attempted murder. investigators say irick was out on bond for a weapons violation at the time of the shooting. patrol is looking for the driver that hit a pedestrian in aiken county. according to police a teen was hit by a car on skyland farm road. we're told the victim of the hit and run is 13 years old. south carolina highway patrol is handling the investigation. two sumter parents have been arrested after their newborn was found with several broken bones icia anderson and adam little have been charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. sumter police say the 9- week-old was brought to the hospital this week with a broken femur. doctors also found several other fractures. we're told the infant is expected to make a full recovery.

secretary of state john kerry is missile launch. he says it's a disgraceful violation of the u.n. he also says the u.s. will continue to work with its partners and members of the u.n. security council on significant measures to hold north korea to account. one officer is injured and a suspect is dead after a shooting saturday evening in ohio. officer kyler newfer of the kenton police department was responding to a domestic disturbance when he encountered an armed man who was just sitting on a porch. the suspect identified as 47-year-old stephen davis fired at newfer and other officers as soon as they arrived and then led police on a chase. newfer was hit twice in the back and is recovering at a local hospital. new information, the death toll in an earthquake in southern taiwan now stands at 19 with about 132 still missing. the mayor of tainan says life detectors at a collapsed 17-story high-
