and meteorologist von gaskin has a check of our chilly work week forecast. your news at 11 starts now. good evening. thanks for joining us tonight. i'm meaghan norman. not the ending the carolina panthers or the fans were expecting. the denver broncos have been crowed super bowl champs. we have team coverage of super bowl 50. wis' mike desumma is live tonight at wild wing cafe in columbia's vista where panthers fans are dealing with the loss. joe gorchow is live in san francisco --- and sports director rick henry joins us in studio with game highlights. rick - the panthers were the

victory....instead the team we watched all season pulled a disappearing act on football's biggest stage. first quarter.....panthers off to a bad start.. von miller strips the football from cam newton....malik jackson falls on it in the end zone for a denver. second quarter.....jonathan stewart puts the panthers on the board...when he leaps over from the on...it's ten to seven. final seconds of the half...demarcus ware puts cam down...he was sacked three times in the first half....panthers trail 13-seven at halftime. fourth quarter...panthers down six....another turnover....miller knocks the ball out of newton's hand....t.j. ward makes the recovery..... that leads to a touchdown run by c.j. anderson....they add a two point conversion.....the broncos lead it 24-to- ten with just over three minutes

ahead. an area of low pressure formed off the coast late saturday and gave us a few sunday morning showers in the extreme eastern part of the viewing area. the low will move away from the coast by the afternoon and the skies will become partly cloudy, daytime high will settle in the low 50s. monday a front will cross the area and give us some clouds and a 30% chance of showers during the afternoon. even though monday will settle in the middle 50s, this front will usher in some cold canadian air and daytime highs will be stuck in the 40s tuesday and wednesday. an attempted murder suspect, on

law enforcement, is back in police custody tonight. richland county deputies say 17 year old tony gilmore was taken to palmetto health richland late last night by columbia police, after being the victim of a robbery. deputies were dispatched after learning gilmore was wanted for 2 counts of attempted murder. after being discharged from the hospital, gilmore reportedly ran away from deputies while handcuffed.

gilmore was caught around 2 o'clock this afternoon on monticello road -- still in handcuffs. deputies say gilmore is wanted in connection with a shooting two weeks ago where two other teenagers were hurt. it happened at a party on foxhunt road in northeast columbia. investigators say, a man out on bond for a weapons violation is back in jail, for a shooting. 35-year-oldldntoine irick has been charged with attempted murder. richland county deputies say irick shot a man several times in the lower body. it happened yesterday afternoon on brookmont lane . the victim is expected to be o-k. voters in new hampshire will head to the polls o o tuesday. will whitson is there. he'll be providing live coverage starting tomorrow. then it's on to south carolina. the republican primary is saturday, february 20th. the democratic primary is the following saturday, february 27th. still ahead -- on the news at 11. the constant upkeep of a

an old cemetery -- home to many beloved midlands veterans -- is in constant need of care. volunteers stepped up again last fall to clean up the overgrown burial ground. but as wis' mike desumma reports -- the issue is finding a permanent fix to keep it maintained. "it made me feel very good. cause i've been wanting it to happen." not far from corine johnson's back door --- are images of heartbreak. "the overgrowth had been there for years." overgrown by the earth..

belonging to veterans of the first and second world wars -- now lying in disarray. the graves used to sit beside olive branch baptist church --- before it burned down and was relocated decades ago. "it made me feel bad...for the ones that were buried out there a lot of their relatives had left." time and time again.. the woods have overtaken this hallowed ground. but periodically, kindness comes through to clean it up. "we all pulled together to get what's done already." most recently last memorial day... volunteers from across south carolina stepped up. "i think they need respect." clearing the lot of trees and debris.... -- and tending to the graves. "this is not just a church thing...it's a community thing." but the question now for olive branch baptist -- which still owns the property, is how to keep this burial ground regularly maintained? the town of batesburg- leesville has asked the

march -- or risk of daily fines. church members say their concern is not having the money and resources -- to keep the care going. "we're grateful for everyone that pitches in and helps us because we definitely need help." "veterans are buried out there...men who fought for this country...men who died for this country." town officials are meeting with church leaders on march 15th. batesburg leesville has provided about 4-thousand dollars in servicee to help with the cemetery's recent cleanup -- but officials say they can't provide that help long term. stay with us -- von gaskin has your full work week
