just before noon friday after their win against number 18 kentucky. the gamecock women's team will play in front of a crowd of 18-thousands fans. the university says it will be the largest crowd ever to watch an ncaa women's basketball game in the state of south carolina. the gamecocks are 22 and 0 this season so far -- looking to beat the number one team in the nation. and coach staley says one thing that will help them -- the fans. she says they have come into this building and created a home-court advantage like no other.. the fans themselves are just as excited with how the team has done this season. alicia walsh: "i'm feeling really good. it's really exciting to have a women's team at people are enjoying going to." steven shannon: "i'm feeling really confident in the team. they know what's at stake when they face a great opponent like uconn. and i'm going to be there cheering them on." number two south carolina will take on number one uconn tonight at 7 o'clock. the game will be broadcast on espn2. and the plan is for everyone to

rear-ended by a mercedes. officials say mccrory complained pain"... but continued to his destination. mccrory released a statement on the crash, saying "we were very fortunate, and while i am still proud of the carolina panthers, this puts the game in proper perspective. i want to thank the california highway patrol and e-m-s for their professionalism and quick action." one of the other major talking points of the super bowl is always the commercials. 100 advertising students at usc watched the big game for the ads and the class decided that t- mobile's ad turning steve harvey's miss universe blunder into a fun commercial was the winner of the cocky award for best super bowl ad. they picked ads based on persuasiveness, likability and brand identity. heinz came in second with its dachshunds in hot dog suits, while bud light and audi tied for third. this is the 13th year students have picked a cocky award for best super bowl ad.

trey moore was arrested friday at a broad street motel. his charges included attempted murder, two counts armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. investigators say a couple was robbed just after 3 p-m last tuesday in the parking lot of fredrick's citgo on guignard drive. one victim was shot and is expected to be ok. this afternoon two sumter parents are out on bond after they were arrested over

injuries doctors reported on their infant. alicia anderson and adam little have been charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. the pair were both given 20-thousand dollar bonds at a hearing this morning. sumter police say the 9- week-old was taken to a hospital with a broken femur. doctors also found several other bone fractures. we're told the infant is expected to make a full recovery.y. troopers are investigating a deadly crash on the savannah river site this morning. highway patrol says the crash happened around 7:15 on s-c-1. investigators say a honda was heading north when it crossed the center line and hit a mack truck head on. the driver of the honda was taken to an augusta area hospital where they died. the truck driver was not hurt. students and faculty at s-c state university will hold a ceremony this afternoon to mark 48 years since the orangeburg massacre. three young men died and 28 students were injured on this day in 1968. s-c highway patrolmen fired shots into a crowd of students and others who were protesting a

a commemoration ceremony will be held today at three in the martin luther king jr, auditorium on s-c state's campus. people in batesburg- leesville are still trying to figure out how a century- old cemetery will be cared for going forward. the cemetery, which sits off of howard street, finds itself constantly falling into a state of need many of the graves there belong to veterans -- some of which served in world war ii. the land belongs to olive branch volunteers responded by cleaning the cemetery. the town is now asking the church to keep up with a plan to keep it maintained -- but members say that's not an easy task for them to meet alone. "we're grateful for everybody that pitches in..to come in and help us because we definitely need help." "we don't have enough membership and especially me to come in and keep the place up. it need to be kept up." town officials are meeting with church

batesburg-leesville has provided about 4-thousand dollars in services to help with the cemetery's recent cleanup, but officials say they can't provide that help long-term. tonight, people worried about identity theft scams can learn how to spot a scam and how to protect themselves at a workshop in newberry county. the newberry county sheriff's office and the state department of consumer affairs are hosting the event that will go over: the different types of identity theft and steps to protect yourself , an overview of security freezes and fraud alerts, and popular scams....along with tips to avoid becoming a victim. that event starts at seven tonight at the newberry county sheriff's office. a new police chief is on the job in chapin. seth zeigler, a chapin native was named chief last month and was sworn into office this morning. he recently served as the captain of the patrol police department. after speaking with zeigler todayayhe says his priorities are bringing
