but the ones i talked to weren't discouraged. in fact, some hope to see the uconn huskies again this year in the tournament. of course, tonight's big game between number- one uconn and number- two usc was a sold-out occasion. fans lined up early some of them in the cold rain and were cheering loudly even before tip-off. during the game, they continued cheering, hoping to spur the gamecocks into a momentum swinging run, but unfortunately, that never happened. some fans told me they hoped to see usc become as effective as uconn on the court going into the tournament. others remarked at just how good uconn's breanna stewart is in fact late in the game, the crowd cheered sarcastically when she was called for her first foul and missed a free throw. ultimately, gamecock fans are still hoping for a championship while uconn fans are too. first poll opening for the presidential primaries in new hampshire--and candidates have been covering every inch of the state to try and secure last-minute votes. but even now, some people still consider themselves undecided. will whitson caught up with some voters who haven't quite made up their minds. ww back to you. the kershaw county sheriff's department is looking to expand its team -- but sheriff jim matthews says that's easier said than done. matthews says his best deputies started backing out after riots broke out in communities like ferguson, missouri, saying today's atmosphere around law enforcement makes young recruits feel there's too much risk. on top of that, matthews says there's not enough pay. for those who haven't completed the justice academy, neneemployees must start in the civil division making $26,000. once they complete the academy the pay gradually grows to 32-thousand. "we don't lose deputies to some of these other low paying counties. we lose them to the higher paying counties. when you have deputies that leave counties that pay more. when they look at us, because they want to move to kershaw county or in this vicinity, they look at the pay scale and say thank you but no thank you." despite other local departments sharing

carolina justice academy reports no drop in class size. in fact, the academy has increased its class size in recent years to meet demands. today marks 48 years since the orangeburg massacre--and today at sc state university, school leaders and students took time to remember the event and inspire young people to stand up for justice. three men were killed on campus on february 8th, 1968--as highway patrolmen shot into a crowd of student activists on campus. close to 30 others were wounded...including doctor cleveland sellers, who is now president of vorhees college. he says when he looks back on that day--he realizes there is still a long way to go in the fight against injustice. "when i look back at the orangeburg tragedy on that night, february 8th, 1968, i can remember vividly everything that transpired on that particular night. and i could remember, not only was i in pain from the gunshot, but i was in pain
