i am on the third floor of the library -- which is set to open to the public by the end of february. and take a look at how different it looks! everything is new -- from new heating and air systems referendum that richland county voters approved several years ago. it allowed 15 million dollars to go toward this renovation at the main richland library branch. this 3rd floor of the branch will also be used for career advancement services. you'll see more spaces with computers, more seating, and even a coaching suite where practice interviews can be conducted. library leaders say these upgrades were requested by the community -- and everyone is excited to start using the new space. roberta phillips: "really great because, you know, we've been talking about this like you said for many years -- so to see the realization of it is very our staff is excited, customers are excited. and throughout our locations everyone we show plans to says, 'when's it going to be built?'. so there's a lot of excitement around what's happening in all of our communities."

"they didn't have a clue as to what we were doing, and we weren't telling them at the time." michael hackwith, a marine veteran of the gulf war, started this inipi with a couple friends who wanted to follow their own cultural religious practice. praying, singing, playing drums -- and sweating in the tent -- around dozens of hot stones, in complete darkness. it's a purity ritual, designed to help sweat out negativity -- a common problem for struggling soldiers . "i've deployed five times.
