""m asking for your vovo because i will win this election. the democrats do not want to run against me. they attack more more than anyone else running." also today--the cross state campaigning for ted cruz included a stop in west columbia. hundreds of people filled a hangar at eagle aviation for a rally. cruz began his day making stops in myrtle beach and charleston. polls of south carolina voters consistently show cruz in second place. today he officially picked up the endorsement of former governor and current congressman mark sanford as well as several midlands residents. . a local undecided voter is talking to wis after his own pretty heated exchange with front runner donald trump. he asked about somewhat controversial comment trump made during last saturday night's debate. our chad mills has the story. during the debate, trump was talking about president george w. bush and the iraq war. he said, , hey lied. they said there were weapons of mass destruction, there were none. and they knew there were none. there were no weapons of mass destruction." oran smith, from leesville, says he had to apologize to his kids because of what came out of his mouth when he heard that comment, so last night, during a town hall, he asked trump to explain it. dr. oran smith, the president of the palmetto family council, says he wasn't trying to embarass republican presidential candidate donald trump with a tough question during a town hall in columbia thursday night. "my question to donald trump, and the political class will have trouble believing this, wasn't an

numbers or hurt him some way. i thought i was giving him an option to take back something that could be hurtful to him, so it could have gone either way." his question addressed a comment that trump made in the last debate -- that president george w. bush lied to get the country into the iraq war. "that stung me very deeply." a columbia uber driver is facing charges after police say he used a gun to threaten a taxi driver from another company. wayne barini is accused of pointing a handgun at the cabbie after he was asked to move from a designated checker yellow taxi parking space in five points last weekend. the victim reported barini cocked his gun before pointing at him. police say he wasn't hurt in the incident. barini was booked at the alvin s. glenn detention center. a teenager killed last weekend

break-in is now being described as the "ringleader" in a separate armed robbery. kershaw county deputies arrested five teenagers, including two juveniles, in connection to an incident on february 2nd. investigators say isaac barrett and hunter mclendon were involved in the attack and robbery of a another teen at a boat landing on lake wateree. 17-year-old brandon spenenr is believed to have been involved. he's the same teen who was shot and killed by homeowever jimmy methe last saturday. methe says he fired to protect his property but now he's charged with involuntary manslaughter. methe was released from jail today on a 200 thousand dollar surety bond. lexington business owner greg leon, who was part of the scandal surrounding former sheriff james metts, is now is now being held on half a million dollars bond on murder charges. his bond was set today. he's charged for the deadly shooting of a man on valentines day. investigators say leon shot into a car with his wife and the still unidentified victim in it.

of the immaculate conception. vice president biden and his wife are also expected to be there, along justice scalia's friends and relatives. the federal government is now going after hoverboards--saying all hoverbaords are "unsafe." they were a hot item this past holiday season--until some people reported cases of them bursting into flames. we get more tonight from erika edwards. fire destroyed a nashville home in january.... two teenagers at home at the time -- barely escaped. firefighters say the cause... was the family's hoverboard. "the fact that a toy caused this kind of destruction to our lives... it's just wrong." hoverboards have been implicated in at least 50 other fires in 24 states.... the consumer product safety commission thinks the problem is how the devices' lithium-ion battery packs interact with circuit boards inside the units. the c-p-s-c has sent a letter to companies that either make or sell the tech toys... saying any hoverboards that

meet federal safety standards will face a recall or be seized. "i do not know of any at this point that would comply with the standard." at new york's jfk airport last december... customs agents seized nearly 14-hundred counterfeit hoverboards with potentially dangerous batteries. they'd been shipped via air cargo from china. the c-p-s-c has this advice for consumers: "i would stop using them and i would contact the retailer or the manufacturer who made it and demand proof that it complies with the standard, and if it doesn't i would demand a refund." last month, amazon announced it would give full refunds on all hoverboards purchased through its website. nbc news has attempted to contact organizations that represent hoverboard manufacturers... so far, no response. erika edwards, nbc news a charity auction of items from the movie "spectre" included agent double- oh-seven's s test sportscar.
