the palmetto state for the last few days for the former secretary of state. she says she first supported clinton in 2008 before the race favored then-senator barack obama. waters say it's clinton's experience and record that set her apart from sanders. "she has dealt with the situation in the middle east. she understands what's happening in syria. she knows how to deal with putin in russia. i think that we are very fortunate to have someone with that kind of experience. i think that bernie at one point had said, 'well experience isn't everything,' but i want to tell you, it means a lot." in the recent nbc/wall street journal/marist poll -- close to 30 points separate clinton and sanders. clinton will be in columbia this week. on tuesday evening -- she's scheduled to be at central baptist church at 6:15. on wednesday she will attend a luncheon at brookland baptist church in west columbia at 2:30. vermont senator bernie sanders made a stop in the midlands today. he was originally going to

service at brookland baptist church. that appearance was cancelled -- but sanders stopped by the church for a meet-and-greet. he shook hands and posed for photos with several members of the congregation. he also spoke on issues of social justice and racial disparity in america. "we have in america today a broken criminal justice system. this is america! we should not be having more people in jail..largely african american and latino then any other country on earth." the presidential candidate made an appearance at a rally in greenville after his stop in west columbia. sanders will make a campaign stop in sumter tomorrow morning. the free event will be held at serendipity cafe on main street. doors open at 8:30 a-m. hillary clinton and bernie

campaigns for a final push for week in the palmetto state ahead democratic primary. you still have time to vote absentee. if you want to receive an absentee ballot by mail you must turn in your application by tuesday. you can vote in person at your county voter registration office until 5 p-m on friday. civil rights activist jesse jackson will be in south carolina encouraging people to vote. jackson says there are close to 1 point 2 million african-americans in the state who are eligible to vote, but only about a million of them are registered. today jackson made stops at churches in columbia, chester and rock hill. he will be in winnsboro tomorrow morning, then at midlands tech at noon and allen university in columbia. cnn is hosting a democratic town hall in columbia on tuesday. bernie sanders and hillary clinton will answer questions from south carolina voters days before the primary. the town hall will be held in the auditorium of usc's law

d-n-r officials say the boat went down early saturday afternoon on lake marion -- near lake view landing. witnesses in a nearby boat were able to get one of the men on board and performed cpr, but could not resuscitate him. witnesses say the other man could not stay above the water. the search continues for that boater. d-n-r says neither man was wearing a life jacket. one man is in the hospital after an early morning shooting in columbia. richland county deputies responded to a shots fired call around 4-30 this morning at 'darrell's place' on percival road. they found a victim shot in the lower body --- his condition is unknown. if you can help investigators find who is responsible for this shooting, call crimestoppers at 1- 888-crime-sc. columbia police continuing their search for suspects tied to last night's shooting at columbiana centre mall. dozens of first responders from multiple agencies responded to the mall last night after getting reports of shots fired inside. parts of the mall were put on lockdown until all

investigators concluded it was an isolated shooting that began as a fist fight between two men who fired shots into the air. daniel morales owns a cell phone repair kiosk inside the mall. he claims to have been right near that fight when it broke out and saw one of the men pull out a gun. "when we exited from the food court by the carousel and we turned around and looked back...there were so many people pushing out that one of the doors had actually come off the hinge and ya know so there was definitely ya know the danger of somebody getting trampled or pushed over or falling over for sure." investigators believe the two men involved in the incident are in their early 20's. one was wearing an acid white shirt and pants -- the other a dark hoodie. anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call crimestoppers. coming up in sports... usc baseball caps off a perfect weekend to begin the season.
