the stolen vehicle struck the richland county sheriff's vehicle causing minor damage right now - law enforcement are on scene searching for suspects in this area. new details this afternoon on a shooting rampage that left 4 people dead...and more than a dozen others injured in kansas. we're now learning from police that the death toll would have been much higher...if it weren't for the actions of one police officer. sarah plake has the latest on the investigation. :46 - :50 1:01 - 1:12 workers inside rural kansas plant described a chaotic scene. "everybody was running, people were screaming, people were crying, we just didn't know what to do." "and more people running and all of a sudden pop pop pop, i started running too. when it was over four people were killed... including the gunman, 14 others wounded... five critically. witnesses say the suspect.. cedric larry ford... who was an employee of the excel industries plant.. was armed with an assault style weapon and a handgun.

land county man is behind bars after deputies say he hit a woman. investigators say derrian grant is charged with criminal domestic violence after deputies say he hit a woman multiple times just before midnight last night. they say the alleged assault happened on parklane road. the victim suffered injuries to her head and was taken to the hospital for treatment. dashcam video released by the department of public safety shows the arrest of a lexington county prosecutor accused of drunk driving. the video was taken monday night at the home of solicitor donnie myers. a highway patrol trooper asks myers to perform a number of field sobriety tests at his home, before ultimately taking him in handcuffs to his patrol car. authorities believe myers lost control of his car while trying to make a left turn toward his house and crashed into a utility pole. myers contends he was run off the road. troopers say a breath test revealed myers had a point oh nine blood alcohol level. his monday night arrest is the third alcohol-related charge since 2005. investigators are still trying

led to a freak accident that killed a machine shop employee in lower richland county. columbia fire crews say they were called to the utility group of south carolina on pineview drive thursday afternoon....after reports of an employee being crushed. officials confirm the man was outside of the machine shop when he was killed. the richland county sheriff's department and ohsa are investigating. richland county deputies need your help identifying two men accused of holding up a chinese restaurant earlier this week. take a look at this surveillance. investigators say the suspects entered the back door of the china wall restaurant on broad river road, monday night. one of the men reportedly stole a cash register while the other acted as a lookout. deputies hope you can recognize the men. if you do -- call crimestoppers at 1-888- crime-sc. a puppy from rock hill that defied the odds the odds after it was shot 18 times with a b.b. gun now has a new home-- and a best friend.

males, south carolina state university is hosting their third annual brother's keeper summit. part two of the session is in full swing with facilitators talking to high school students today. our billie jean shaw was there as the school reached out to the elementary school level. the students broke out in workshops where they got one on one advice and motivational words from the facilitators about cadid a range of topics such as social media equitte, dressing for success and the importance of education. the founders of the summit tell me they believed it was important to create this black males. the students say they are feeling more inspired after the event.
