von gaskin has the details in your forecast. your news at starts now. good evening. thanks for joining us tonight. i'm meaghan norman. a richland county councilman is in trouble with the law again. kelvin washington was arrested last night and charged with felony dui after a crash on bluff road in hopkins. just last month, washington was arrested on tax charges after a department of revenue investigation found he had been delinquent on his taxes for several years. he pleaded guilty two weeks ago to three counts of not filing a tax return. this afternoon, washington is out of jail. wis' mike desumma was at the bond hearing. he joins us live from alvin s. glenn detention center with the latest. meaghan, during the short hearing investigators spoke on the major impact this crash caused. the south carolina highway

kelvin washington was driving drunk --- when he rear ended another car on bluff road at a high rate of speed. authorities say the two men riding in that car are still in an area hospital --- one in intensive care. washington himself had nothing to say to reporters as he left the alvin s. glenn detention center just hours ago. he posted bond not long after it was set this afternoon at 25-thousand dollars cash surety. according to neighbors who live near the crash site -- the two victims were turning their vehicle off bluff road last night onto martin luther king boulevard in hopkins. the crash happened sometime around 7:45 p- m. several people say they noticed the victims' vehicle ended up crashing into a utility pole as a result. several neighbors tell me lights flickered in their homes shortly after the crash. when first responders arrived, i'm told they had to extricate both men from their car in order to get them to safety.

taking a look at the race for the white house...hillary clinton has big momentum heading into super tuesday. last night, she won the south carolina democratic primary by a resounding margin. with all precincts reporting, clinton took 73 percent of the vote to bernie

ended up with 26 percent. more than a dozen states are up for grabs this tuesday. the primaries are nicknamed the "sec primary" because so many of those states have teams in college football's southeastern conference. they include alabama, georgia, tennessee, texas and arkansas. all presidential candidates are on the campaign trail with only two days until voting gets underway. on the gop side, the polls indicate tuesday could be another big day for donald trump. nbc's jennifer johnson looks at developments on the campaign trail. fresh off her huge win in south carolina...hillary clinton worked the crowds sunday in tennessee...a super tuesday state. presidential candidate :07-:12 "and i need your help on tuesday - the tennessee primary is really important!" clinton clobbered bernie sanders by roughly 50 percentage points. presidential candidate :16-:21 - super already on screen! super in upper corner - nbc meet the press - already on screen

richland county deputies responded to a shooting around 9 o'clock last night in a parking lot near the publix on hardscrabble road in northeast columbia. that's where deputies say a woman was found shot. we're told her injuries are not life-threatening. no one has been arrested. call crimestoppers if you have any information -- 1-888-crime-sc. we're learning more about the deadly shooting of a virginia police officer who was killed on her first day on the job. an active d dy army staff sergeant has been arrested on murder charges in the case. authorities say ronald hamilton opened fire on officers who were responding to a domestic dispute. 3 officers were critically injured. ashley guindon was killed. hamilton eventually surrendered to police. inside the home, authorities found hamilton's wife dead. officer guindon is being remembered for her love of serving others. "we were struck by her passion to do this job. obviously, she had separated during her first field training
