people lit candles and held a moment of silence to remember officer ashley guindon. she was working her first field shift when she was killed. an active duty army staff ssgeant has been arrested on murder charges in the case. authorities say ronald hamilton opened fire on officers who were responding to that domestic dispute. guindon was killed. 2 other officers were hurt. hamilton eventually surrendered to police. inside the home, authorities found hamilton's wife dead. officer guindon is being remembered for her love of serving others. "we were struck by her passion to do this job. obviously, she had separated during her first field training phase for a variety of personal reasons, many of which she didn't share with us. but she did share with us when we rehired her... that she felt like she still wanted to do this job... she couldn't get it out of her blood. it was something

herself into, which is exactly why she reapplied and sought to be rehired. she clearly had a passion to serve others in a way that went beyond herself." officer guindon graduated with a bachelor's degree in aeronautics and served in the marine corps... before joining the police force. the man accused of shooting an ohio pastor during sunday service is expected in court later today. police say daniel schooler gunned down his older brother, reverend william schooler. schooler was arrested at the dayton church and is now facing murder charges. witnesses say they were in service when they saw schooler leave the sanctuary and walk to the back of the church. that's when congregants say they heard gunfire. "he went to sit down during prayer, and he sat there for a few minutes and then after prayer, he got up and went back in our pastor's office and then i heard two shots. wasn't a minute and i heard two shots. and so i just got everybody out of the church. and we just kept hearing shooting and shooting.

"i am amazed that they lost him! it had to be unusual circumstances because usually we have an adult, at least one adult in the front of the hike, and

accused of killing two people, including officer ashley guindon, who was working her first day as an officer. hamilton reportedly opened fire on prince william county police officers in virginia as they approached a home for a domestic dispute call. two other officers were injured, and rookie officer guindon died from her injuries. hamilton faces multiple counts of murder. ohio police are investigating a possible motive after a pastor was found shot dead inside his church during a service sunday morning. william schooler had just walked back to the pulpit inside zion baptist church when the shooter reportedly got out of a pew and followed him. witnesses say they heard a couple of shots fired while the choir was singing-- and chaos quickly erupted when everyone took off running. more than 20 people were inside the church at the time. the shooter is believed to be schooler's brother. michigan's governor rick snyder's aides may have known something was wrong with flint's water as far back as october 2014. emails show the aides discussed switching the water supply

kelvin washington did not have much to say to reporters as he walked out of the alvin s. glenn detention center, sunday. highway patrol troopers believe washington was driving drunk saturday night when he rear-ended another vehicle on bluff road in hopkins. troopers say that other vehicle ended up crashing into a utility pole and the two men inside are still in the hospital -- one, in intensive care. a judge set washington's bond at 25-thousand dollars and ordered him not to contact either victim. torrey rush, the chairman of richland county council released a statement that reads in part quote: "i want to ensure the public that this body and its individual members take this very seriously. our collective responsibility to the public is compromised when such an event like this occurs... we will continue to monitor this situation..." kelvin washington was also arrested last month when a department of revenue investigation found he had been delinquent on his taxes for several years. washington pleaded guilty two weeks ago to three counts of 'failure to file a tax return'. a proposal to allow school employees to carry guns on campus is not going anywhere for now. a house subcommittee has voted to set aside the bill.

most of the victims were shot where ford worked. investigators believe a restraining ford received that day from a former girlfriend may have been what set him off. according to recently released emails, michigan governor rick snyder's aides knew something was wrong with flint's water as far back as october 2014. in the emails, the aides discussed switching the water supply back from the flint river to lake huron, six months after the switch happened. researchers later found elevated levels of lead. snyder's spokesman says those e-mails referenced other preliminary concerns, before the aides knew specifically about the lead problem. space x has scrubbed the launch of it's falcon nine rocket for the third time in recent days. the latest attempt was called off last night. space x says on its website the rocket and its payload are fine, but it's not saying why the launch one of the previous launches was canceled because of problems with the propellant. the rocket carries a satellite that would bring internet and phone access to millions of people in asia.

breaking overnight in the alert center... a north carolina couple killed after a crash and explosion outsie their cleveland county home overnight. this is video from the scene last night before that fire was put out. cleveland county officials say a truck crashed into a propane tank at this home causing the explosion. a witness says the blast sounded like an earthquake followed by a fireball. the husband and wife inside the home escaped but they later died from injuries sustained in the blast. the driver of the truck that crashed is in the hospital this the trial of an upstate couple charged in the death of a toddler is expected

theia mcardle and richard bowman are both facing homicide by child abuse charges after the death of mcardle's son, gabriel. newberry investigators say the three-year-old had injuries from head to toe and died from severe blunt force trauma. mcardle told investigators she was working as an escort the night of her son's death in newberry county, and that she left the child with her boyfriend richard bowman. since their arrests, both bowman and mcardle face additional charges after misconduct while in the newberry county detention center. a richland county councilman is out of jail after being arrested for felony dui. kelvin washington did not have much to say to reporters as he walked out of the alvin s. glenn detention center, sunday. highway patrol troopers believe washington was driving drunk saturday night when he rear-ended another vehicle on bluff road in hopkins. troopers say that other vehicle ended up crashing into a utility pole and the two men inside are still in the hospital -- one, in intensive care. a judge set washington's bond at 25-thousand dollars and ordered him not to contact either
