watching tonight. 11-28 38-49 1:02-1:10 1:21-1:29 momentum is on the side of hillary clinton and donald trump. both -- their party's winners in three of the first four contests. both -- poised to pick up the bulk of today's delegates. voting in vermont, bernie sanders said no matter what happens tonight, his campaign will still be going tomorrow. presidential candidate "we're very proud of what we're doing, and what we're going to continue to do. this is a campaign that's going to the philadelphia convention in july." also in his home state today -- republican ted cruz. texas is seen as a must-win for the senator, who put southern states at the heart of his strategy -- but stumbled in south carolina. presidential candidate "i speak to unity among republicans, that let's come together and stand behind the conservative principles, the free market principles, and constitutional liberties that we believe in." cruz entered super tuesday as the only republican with a win over donald trump -- beating him in iowa.

top lawman. this afternoon the city announced that public safety chief charles mcnair is retiring after 16 years in the job. mcnair is a cayce native who got is start with the the city as a firefighter, then in animal control and then the police before he moved to the highway patrol and sled. but he came back home after he retired from sled and he's been the chief in cayce since 2000. march is colon cancer awareness month and dawndy mercer plank is teaming up with consultants in gastroenterology and usc's center for colon cancer research to enenurage people to get a colonoscopy. dawndy is at a "party" like no other, showing the importance of being screened. part of the "joy" of reaching 50

in northeast columbia that left one woman injured in the crossfire. it happened just before midnight on saturday in the parking lot of publix on hard scrabble road. according to the incident report, witnesses told the officer on scene they heard gunshots, then saw two men running before three cars drove off. in addition to shell casings, richland county deputies say they found a bag and jar full of something resembling marijuana. the woman who was hurt is expected to be okay. anyone with information is asked to call crimestoppers at 1- 888-crime-sc. a newly released report says richland county councilman kelvin washington claimed he'd only had one beer before a crash saturday night. washington is charged with felony dui. the highway patrol officer who responded says the councilman and his car had aa strong odor of alcohol. an incident report notes there were no skid marks---meaning no indication of washington

car slammed into the other vehicle. the driver of that second car suffered a severe head injury, his passenger had minor injuries. according to the report, washington failed a field sobriety test at the hospital e-r. thth trooper says he was forced to get a search warrant because washington refused to volunatrily provide a blood sample. richland county investigators now have a suspect for the murder of a person found dead in a crashed vehicle. 17-year-old jose reyes is charged with the murder of 18 year old jaelen josey. according to investstators, reyes shot and killed josey after an attempted armed robbery on seton hall drive last night.. they say reyes and the victim knew each other. richland county deputies found josey with a gunshot wound to the upper body in his crashed vehicle. we'll get an update on your weather next. for that we turn to

southeastern conference season awards. the gamecocks took home half of the conference's individual awards a'ja wilson won both player of the year and defensive player of the year, after winning freshman of the year last year. coach dawn staley named coach of the year. wilson along with teammates alaina coates and tiffany mitchell were three of the eight players on the first team all-sec. no south carolina players were named to the second team or the all-freshman team. wilson is among five players on the all- defensive team. the awards are chosen by the league's 14 coaches. for the first time this season -- the south carolina baseball team is on the road.
