the wreckage. the plane ended up going down in medellin ...after declaring an emergency.it's not clear what caused the crash ... but the area was hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms. there were 81 people on board the plane. officials say the brazilian soccer team was heading to colombia for a regional tournament final. the south american soccer federation has canceled all activities until further notice. its a countdown until the recount! if its going to happen -- today is the deadline for the jill stein campaign to derica williams joins us from city hall with the very latest theres now a price tag for a recount of the presidential election in wisconsin: three-point-five million dollars. and the jill stein campaign has until today to pay it. as for how the recount would be conducted, thats bit more complicated. right now, the state elections commission is letting each county decide whether to do it by hand or by machine. the stein campaign has asked a dane county judge to order that

the racine county clerk is planning to do mostly by machine but will recount the receipts from touch-screen machines be hand. she says it would take longer if everything was by hand... sometimes, individual counts are off and instead of counting that set of ballots and matching it with the number of voters in the poll book, youre counting it two or three times instead and that does the milwaukee county clerk says having the recount by hand could jeopardize making the december 12 deadline. the dane county clerk says theyll do it by hand regardless since the stein campaign is worried about the possibility the machines were hacked. all of the county clerks we talked to though...say such a hack is extremely unlikely since the machines arent connected to the internet. if all goes as planned, the wisconsin election commission timeline is for the recount to begin this

observer training will be conducted this evening at 6:30. happening now. a nationwide movement, fighting for a raise in the minimum wage. the so-called "day of disruption" -includes workers at o'hare airport. workers across the country-- including here in milwaukee-- are seeking a 15- dollar-an-hour wage. this is a near the mcdonalds near 9th and north. two other demonstrations are planned for today. at one, workers and community leaders will rally at city hall. there's also a protest planning for this evening at five o'clock at the mcdonald's on miller park way. in milwaukee county -the minimum wage will be gradually increased to 15 dollars an hour by 2022. charges have been filed against the racine man accused of driving drunk and causing a double fatal crash

ruohonen faces several felonies in the case.he was allegedly drunk when he got behind the wheel friday night. prosecutors say he rear-ended kevin dalley's vehicle in caledonia. dalley and his 9-year-old daughter were both killed. his 6-year-old daughter was also injured in the crash. ruohonen's bond is set at 50-thousand dollars. and in milwaukee -- 18-year-old "samira coleman-wilks" is facing multiple felonies after deadly crash over the weekend. she was allegedly going 83 in a tried to flee police. her car eventually collided with a nissan before striking a light pole near 27th and capitol. shawn oliver died at the scene -- while another passenger had life-threatening injuries. the 3 people in the nissan also were hurt. police say coleman-wilks never had a valid drivers license of any sort. the losing streak is over! the packers getting a big win against the eagles last night. but there was an interesting moment during the game that created quite the

quarterback aaron rodgers disappeared behind a tent for a few plays last night. there was some concern over whether or not he was injured. he addressed the moment after last night's victory... for those injured during an attack yesterday on campus. 11 people were injured -- when a student plowed his car into them ... and then began stabbing them. a quick-acting ohio state officer is credited with saving lives ... after he shot and killed the suspect. and all the victims are expected to survive. members of the community held a prayer vigil in honor of the victims last night. "a lot of people are experiencing fear and kind of shock and sadness. people now and its pretty sad." classes are expected to resume today at o-s-u. the motive for the attack is under investigation. and we'll have much more on the man behind the attack coming up on wakeup. in illinois -- an off-duty cop shoots and kills a crime suspect -- after bumping into him outside a walmart. police say the officer was shopping in this store in cahokia when he saw the suspect monday afternoon. the officer shot him before police came to the scene. the suspect still managed to get into

breaking news. at least 76 people are dead after a plane crash in colombia. the plane was carrying members of one of brazil's soccer teams. nicole joins us now with the latest. the plane went down on its way to medellin's international people survived. there were 81 people on board the plane. authorities say the plane declared an emergency during the flight, because of an electrical failure. it's not clear what caused the crash ... but the area was hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms. the south american soccer federation has canceled all activities until further notice. the timeline for the tally has been set. and today is the day that we will know if there will be a presidential recount.

latest developments. today is the deadline for green party candidate jill stein to pay the 3 and a half million dollar estimated cost by this afternoon or the whole thing is off. she says she has the money. as of now, president-elect donald trump leads hillary clinton by 22-thousand votes in wisconsin. stein got barely 1 percent of the vote. county clerks are expecting to start the recount on thursday. they finish. the state is up against a december 13th deadline to have the results of the recount certified, and elections officials say that will be a challenge in some counties. its going to reassure wisconsin voters that we have a fair system, that were not counting illegal votes, were not counting dead peoples votes

neighbors and police. fire officials said they responded to several fires in this area. and milwaukee police say they are investigating two separate armed robberies that took place at the valhalla cemetery near 91-st and silver spring. the most recent occurred on sunday in broad daylight. police say two suspects armed with a stun gun, approached a man in the cemetery. they took the man's keys and his car. a similar incident took place around noon...but police were able to recover the victim's vehicle. trying to determine if either incident is connected. there are no suspects in custody. the packers back in the win category...beating the philadelphia eagles last night 27 to 13. it's something the packers haven't done in four games! our tim van vooren at the game in philly with highlights from the

investigators say it could be the motive but they are continuing to investigate. classes are expected to resume on campus today. a judge grants dylann roof -- the suspected charleston, south carolina, church shooter -- the ability to represent himself in court. roof says he wants to move forward without his counsel. he is accused fatally shooting nine black parishioners during a bible study at a charleston church last year. federal prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against roof, who is charg crimes. he's pleaded not guilty. jury selection is underway in the first of two death penalty trials he faces. the trial is expected to start early next year. despite growing demand for protesters to move from the dakota access pipeline land...the group vows to stand their ground...and are in for the long haul. they've been ordered to leave by december 5th. this past friday, the u-s army corps of engineers warned that activists who refused to leave could face arrest. however, officials have since backtracked, saying they have no plans

wakeup news. the late pop star prince -- one year after his death. the music legend will be honored over a four-day festival at his paisley park home. morris day and prince's band-- "the revolution" -- are expected to perform...with more artists to join the lineup. organizers say the festival will include panel discussions and presentations on prince's influence on the music industry.
