spokesperson, around 11-45 a-m, a bomb threat is discovered, written on a tile, inside a third floor, boys bathroom. after west allis police are contacted, students are ushered one block east, to jordan evangelical lutheran church. meanwhile, their parents and caregivers are alerted, and they come to the church to pick-up their students--ne of whom describes what happened, in his art class, today. the teacher was like, get ready to go to a different place, when the principal knocks on the door. and, a couple minutes later, she did, and we left. there was no announcement about it, or according to a statement from the west allis/west milwaukee school district, classes were canceled, for the remainder of the day, along with all evening sporting events, and after- school activities. the schools regularly scheduled classes and activities are set to resume, wednesday. live, in west allis, im justin williams, fox 6 news.

secretary of labor under george w. bush. she is also the wife of senate majority leader mitch mcconnell. the latest now on wildfires raging in eastern tennessee. firefighters are focusing on extinguishing structure fires.. and clearing roads. the national guard is on hand checking buildings for any people. fox 6's ted perry is in the newsroom with more. ted? high winds have fueled raging wildfires... forcing the evacuation of thousands of people. three people have been killed in the wildfires. hundred buildings have also been damaged or destroyed. emergency officials are ordering people in gatlinburg, pigeon forge and areas near the smoky mountains to leave. national guard troops are being sent in to help overwhelmed firefighters, as dry conditions and a strong weather front are making conditions worse. the gatlinburg fire chief praises the courage of those helping people escape the flames. "it's difficult to go out into a community and try to protect

identified the two people found dead in a home last wednesday. police say william and karen krueger, who are husband and wife were found dead in their home on hickory trail. they both died of gunshot wounds. according to police, they are not looking for any suspects, and that it is not a domestic violence case. police add that health issues were possibly a factor in the case. several hundred water filters are now available -- free of charge -- to qualifying milwaukee residents. it's happening today and tomorrow in two locations on the citys

it's a record for shoppers on cyber monday. nearly three and a half billion dollars was spent yesterday. shoppers spent over twelve percent more than last year's cyber monday. consumers spent more than a billion dollars shopping on their tablets and smartphones. nasa scientists have a challenge for you...and it deals with a glamorous issue. they've launched a competition to invent a "hands-free" system that handles human waste inside a space suit. the problem occurs when astronauts spend hours and hours in a suit. nasa needs a way to circulate that waste away from the astronaut's body until they can get out of the suit. right now astronauts must wear a diaper during launch and

outside a stadium in brazil, fans gathered to mourn today. the south american soccer federation has canceled all activities until further notice. the l.a.p.d. says it's confident it can track down the person who sent threatening letters to five california mosques. officers say two were mailed from the same post office on november 19th and sent to mosques in koreatown and northridge. meantime, the leaders of mosques in the los angeles-area met with police and the f.b.i. yesterday. three received copies of a handwritten letter addressing muslims as the children of satan. the f.b.i. says the letters are not considered a hate crime and a federal investigation is unlikely. it is a grave situation, two cars have been stolen from mourners at a local cemetery. the victims at valhalla cemetery were mourning the loss of loved ones, and now they're mourning the loss of their car. our bret lemoine has this fox 6

area to mourn... a space to remember. milwaukees valhalla cemetery near 91-st and silver spring should be a safe location for quiet reflection... but according to police... its increasingly become a hot spot for crooks to score a new ride. jw 'we can no longer take things for granted.' james wilbern, manager at the nearby silver spring neighborhood center, is appalled to learn whats been happening here lately. jw 'you know, thats tragic. its unfortunate that things like that happen in our community.' investigators say an armed robbery occurred er sunday afternoon. police say two suspects armed with a stun gun, approached a man in the cemetery. sources say the victim was placing a wreath on a loved ones tombstone. police say the suspects took the mans keys... and car. jw 'pay attention - look over your shoulder. make sure you lock your vehicles.' wilbern says his center offers programs for kids, adults and the elderly. he says in a neighborhood filled with good people... car thefts have become an all too regular

in this contact 6 report - jenna sachs explains what you need to know to keep your child healthy in the classroom. josephina liranzo has two daughters with seasonal asthma. both need to be given medication during school. "i am very dependent on the nurse because if they dont provide the medication or she doesnt get medication to my daughters they will get worse and worse and they will get sicker and sicker." the american academy of pediatrics recommends a nurse should be present full time at every cuts many schools are opting to have a nurse onsite only part time, or not at all. "this means relying on teachers and staff to dispense medication, treat injuries and handle emergencies." at the same time children are going to school with complex medical needs, like food allergies and asthma. so if your child needs medication during school what can you do? make sure you give explicit instructions to the person in charge of dispensing your childs

the team says the study can help doctors work to manage pain and addiction better. apparently knowing the high number of calories in fast food doesn't deter people from eating it! research shows the nutrition facts posted at restaurants go unnoticed by nearly two-thirds of fast food customers. study authors recommend increasing the visibility of calorie content by making the type size bigger-- and changing the color to make it stand out more on menus. people in the study also didn't k intake should be each day-- so they had a hard time comparing how many calories are in that cheeseburger and fries. preventing obesity, hypertension and diabetes in your forties and fifties... may help lower your risk of heart failure for the rest of your life. researchers sampled from communities across the united states. they found people in those mid-life ages without obesity, diabetes or high blood pressure were eighty-six percent less likely to develop heart
