new overnight - a pedestrian was rushed to a hospital via flight... after getting hit by a car in mequon. this happened just before 6 last night near highland and port washington. police say the pedestrian suffered serious injuries. the driv cause of the crash remains under investigation. a dane county judge decides wisconsin county clerks will not have to do a "hand recount" of the november presidential election instead...clerks can choose to use ballot machines. deandra corinthios is live from the zeidler building with the latest the judge encouraged the clerks to hand count the ballots saying it is the best way to determine whether voting

ultimately it is up to the clerks to decide how they'll proceed ...either by hand...or by machine. the request for a hand recount came from green party candidate jill stein. at last night's hearing in madison...her attorneys...as well as a representative for former democratic presidential candidate hillary clinton... called three witnesses to make their case the through line in their testimony was a hand recount is the only way to ensure voting machines were not tampered with. an elections security expert from m-i-t testified that optical scanners used in wisconsin elections are vulnerable to hacks... but presented no tampered with. he speculated malware could have been added to scanners without anyone knowing. a statistical expert told the court there were some anomalies with state voting results - particularly when looking at results taken from municipalities that process votes with optical scanners. "the fact that they want to do a recount using machines is their discretion, their decision. i may disagree......... but i cant put myself in their position."deandra/live about 20 county clerks have said they would use voting machines
