the judge encouraged the clerks to hand count the ballots saying it is the best way to determine tampered with. but said ultimately it is up to the clerks to decide how they'll proceed ...either by hand...or by machine. the request for a hand recount came from green party candidate jill stein. at last night's hearing in madison...her attorneys...as well as a representative for former democratic presidential candidate hillary clinton... called three witnesses to make their case the through line in their testimony was a hand recount is the only way to ensure voting machines were not tampered with. an elections security expert from m-i-t testified that optical scanners used in wisconsin elections are vulnerable to hacks... but presented no evidence that votes were tampered with. he speculated malware could have been added to scanners without anyone knowing. a statistical expert told the court there were some anomalies with state voting

happened just before six last night on port washington just north of highland road. the driver stopped... called 9-1-1 and is cooperating with the investigation. the pedestrian was taken to the hospital by flight for life. the cause remains under investigation. it was the neighborly thing to do. that's what workers at a brady street restaurant are saying after helping put out a fire on the porch of a nearby home. employees at the casablanca restaurant were putting up christmas decorations when they noticed flames outside of their window. it turned out the porch of a neighbor's home caught on the owner of casablanca, along with the chef and another employee ran to help.. they used fire extinguishers from the restaurant to put out the flames. 16:25 without really thinking, just grabbed a bunch of fire extinguishers and everybody just ran outside. 09:44 the neighborhood for us, is like family. no one was injured. the fire department says the flames were out by the time they arrived. happening now -crews are bracing for the threat of more fires in gatlinburg, tennessee... as high

through the area. kim's in the newsroom with the very latest developments in eastern tennessee. at least three people have died as a result of the wildfires... and more than 250 buildings have already been damaged or destroyed. the national park service says the wildfire was likely caused by a human... and is under investigation. in the past two days... 14 thousand people have evacuated the resort towns of gatlinburg and pigeon forge... as flames surround businesses, cabins, hotels, and homes. some had to abandon their pets, because they didn't have enough time to grab them... while flames because it was the only way out. not everyone was happy with the response to the fire... "i walked outside of my door and i looked to the right and the whole mountain was on fire. the police finally showed up, told us they wouldn't give us a ride because we have two small chihuahuas, so we had to walk down the middle of gatlinburg on the parkway." thousands are now living at emergency shelters that have been set up... while about a dozen people are getting treatment at local

new information on severe weather hitting the south overnight. the death toll has risen to five. an official in tennessee says two people have been killed and at least nine others injured. and in alabama-- three people are killed after a line of storms and possible tornadoes move across the northern part of the state. officials say the three people were all in a mobile home in rosalie. another person in the home was also critically injured. several arrests made in milwaukee... as demonstrators "fight for 15." angelica's in studio with a look at three local gatherings. the protest in west milwaukee ended in arrests. last night... protesters and community leaders gathered outside the mcdonalds on miller park way -- to demand a 15-dollar minimum wage. prices are going up every single day and it's time for that to change. if you're working a decent job if you're working forty hours a week you shouldn't have to struggle. you shouldn't

up to each wisconsin county to decide the best way to re-count election day ballots. that means some clerks will proceed with the recount by hand...others...with the help of ballot machines. deandra corinthios is live from the zeidler building with the latest about 20 county clerks who said they would use voting machines to recount at least some ballots will be the milwaukee county clerk..who said he wasn't sure he would be able to complete the recount by the december 12th deadline by hand. at last night's hearing in madison...the dane county judge agreed that the best way to determine if voting machines were tampered with... is to do a hand-recount. but she says she has to follow the law ...and a mandatory hand-recount that petitioners wanted... will
